In short: Done it quite a few times now. Distance is odd, weather is not ideal, but atmosphere and organization more than make for a great day.
In full: One of my fave races just because its local and i see a lot of friends out on the course, either running or spectating. That said, it has plenty to offer people from outside the area too. The organization/marshalling is excellent and the atmosphere and attractions in the park make for a great day for runners and non-runners alike.

Would i do it again? I have done... and again... and again!

In short: Tough course, too hot to run but I did it! Organsiation was very good but would've prefered an 11am start. It was a long time not to eat beforehand! Like the woods bit best away from the roads, shame there wasn't more.

In short: Most definitely undulating! Not a great choice for a first time out, but enjoyable anyway. The heat certainly played a part with many wilting before the first water station appeared. Got a medal, but the T-shirts had all gone by the time I finished.

In short: Well organised, friendly and challenging event with lots of local support, which was great.
In full: Great friendly atmosphere and good value for money. Lots of other things going on in the park whilst race is taking place, so makes a good day out for everyone. A tough course but would do it again next year.

In short: Great race, shame about the heat!
In full: Great atmosphere and support from the spectators. Excellent organisation, could have done with another water station as it was so hot, but other than that, well worth the money. Certainly an undulating course, seemed to spend more time going uphill than down!
Many thanks to the lady with the hosepipe, very refreshing!

In short: Too hot, but worth it
In full: Weather was far too hot for the race, but a decent (and friendly) field and plenty of support around made up for it. Great to get a t-shirt and medal for the price, and see a few old faces. Only criticism would be that the hottest part of the day isn't ideal for the race to start, or at least if next year has the same start time then a third water station could help a bit!

In short: Extra challenging on a blistering hot day!
In full: This definitely qualifies as an undulating course! The climbs are long rather than steep, but the 6th mile in particular is a painful slow uphill slog, especially in the near 30 degree heat we had this time. I was only expecting one water stop, so the second one was a pleasant surprise although they seemed to be rather too close to each other. Marshalling and signposting are excellent.

The start is great, the wide open spaces in the park and the relatively small field leading to no congestion even though the fun run starts at the same time as the main event. The finish is a bit cruel, making you do a "lap of honour" round the park after you think the end is in sight! The course is nothing to write home about, but fairly traffic tree for a near-london road race.

Best part is the spectator support - really enthusiastic applause from bystanders throughout the route, with some setting up their own informal water stops. If you live in the area, and don't mind a bit of hill work, this is definitely worth doing.
