In short: My original and best
In full: I did this as my first half marathon 12 years ago and have been back every year since. The support around the town is amazing and you really feel part of something. To top it all the weather was near perfect today.
If you're looking for a first half marathon, i'd definitely recommend it, it's tough, but worth every step. Everyone's welcome and there are runners of every ability (and fancy dress) to keep you company.
Well done Eric and crew!

In short: I conquered the Hastings half
In full: What a great race. Yes the hill to the ridge is tough but thats what makes getting a PB on this monster special. Atmosphere is up there with the Great North run. Thank you Hastings, a great day, great support and great weather

In short: A virgin no more
In full: First time at Hastings and loved it! Knew about the hills and wasn't looking to do more than see what happened re timing.....would suggest newcomers do the same - after 2 miles I thought I was acing it, then the long climb to the ridge began, and when it was over I found the man at the top with the sign 'the worst is over' - be warned, he LIES! Some cheeky short ascents are around until about mile 9, after which its all down and then home along the front. Fantastic weather [forgot me lotion so the bonce is burnished] matched to fantastic support, loved it loved it loved it. Proper organisation, and unlike Brighton it felt like it was about the runners first, and not the money! Good organisation, as it ought to be. Love the brass commemorative, I've already added a ribbon and its proudly on my wall. See you next year Hasting!

In short: Challenging course, well organised and fantastic support!
In full: Love this half marathon and I've actually done it the last 6/7 years. It's a tough course so the support definitely helps you round. It's always been well organised and this year was no exception. Forgot about the slight course adjustment until I got to it but it was a welcome change; much less demoralising than having to turn away from the finish as you get to the seafront! Great work Eric and thanks for the personal email to sort out my running number postal issues! Will definitely be entering again next year!

In short: good and challenging but boy was it warm!
In full: Eric and his team have come up with a superb day once again and it is easy to see why this is rated as No.1!
Superslick organisation, good marshalling, good and challenging course, great crowd support and good value - it's near enough everything you want in a race.

This year the weather was good if a tad on the warm side especially along the prom for the last three miles (but thats just me being picky)
I found the re-arrangment of the "loop" a lot easier than the old one by the fishing huts for some reason. It's also nice having a text when you got home with your results.

Overall a fantastic race and I will be back next year!

In short: Heat and Hills
In full: First go at a half, watched this as a spectator so many times but never appreciated until now how hard it is. Glorious weather (very hot), the new route up the hill to the kings head pub from winchelsea Road absolutely destroyed me. Fantastic support (bless my hometown)helped immensely though. I will be back next year.

In short: Fantastic race that is, in my opinion, the best Half Marathon out there!
In full: Amazing weather for this year (same as last year!) and this helped to swell the size of the support which, for those who have not had the chance to run London, rivals the big marathons in terms of atmosphere. Bands, supporters and half of Hastings must have turned out.

Everything runs like clockwork that to Eric and his team. The extra stalls on the green were a nice diversion while you waited to start. Hats off to the French guy who ran in chainmail (1066). Sat on the beach afterwards and he went in up to his neck in some very cold water!

Thanks again Hastings - see you next year.

In short: My favourite half marathon, a true classic. Amazing crowd & bands around the course, supportive spectators, the whole town seemed to go crazy for the event. A must do if you are near Hastings (or like travelling) Booked for this year.
