In short: A really fun race.....a classic negative split.
In full: First half- very much uphill.
Second Half- very much downhill.

Great fun, great crowds and the run along the seafront at the end is great.

In short: Excellent race every time
In full: Very tough first half - lots of uphill climbs, then the decents in the second half make it a challenging run, but very good for marathon training. The hot weather this year made it even more difficult.
Well done to the Lions RC, will be back again next year.

In short: This was my second year and I forgot how many hills there were.
In full: A Special thanks must go to all the supporters along the way. Without them I don't think it would be the same.

In short: very enjoyable once past the hill with lots of good local support and encouragement
In full: was warned about the hill but did go on and on - support once reached top from towns, villages, hospitals and elderly homes (with pots and pans) was fantastic and very much helped us on. only down point was car being towed - no warning that would have happened - parking even on the saturday evening is horrendous in town - very friendly guest house allowed back in for shower cup of tea and choccy biscuit was excellent - Brighton take note - will be back - oh and nice red face and arms today in the sunshine!

In short: Scenic, amazing support from the people of Hastings who turn out in their droves, well organized.
In full: A friendly race and my first half marathon. Would suit first timers as long as they have put the training in, the hills are hard but there is plenty of friendly company at the back of the race.
The support for this race in Hastings has to be seen, bands, crowds of people..just brilliant. The marshalls were superb as well, clearly the whole town is proud of this event and it shows. Would defintely go back.

In short: Have done this race many times. Superb course, huge turnout, magnificent weather.
In full: This is a race that lifts the spirits. Huge number of runners, 4000 I think, so a great atmosphere. One long hill at from mile three to six which a few runners walked up. I love the fast flat last three miles along the seafront. You can get your head down and really go for a fast finish. One word of advice for anybody thinking of doing this next year...Get there early. Parking can be a nightmare.

In short: Hard race but with fantanstic crowd support on a lovely spring day, will be back again next year
In full: Having to run slower this year was able to appreciate the wonderful crowds that seemed even more this year with hardly any quite spots. Great for the back markers.
