In short: An exceptional race. Highly recommended !!!
In full: Although a local runner (I live in Belper) this was the first time I have had a chance to run this well organised and challenging race. Having done a lot of hill work on my own local runs in the area I was still left breathless with some of the climbs but that all added up to a fantastic sense of achievement when cossing the finish line... and the great thing is that now I know the course I can hone and fine tune all the hard bits so that next year I can spend more time lapping up the glorious scenery. If I thought I loved running before this race then it has just got even better !!! I take my hat off with a big thank you to all the staff at the rugby club and also to the volunteers who helped to make the event so enjoyable...:-)... Thanks also to all the great sports who turned up to make this an outstanding sunday. I will see you all next year !!!

In short: Wow! Hard but worth it!
In full: I had heard how incredibly hard this race was and was really nervous when race day arrived! Yes the hills were erm...nails, but walking up them helped!! The marshals were very friendly and helpful and the organisation was second to none. Still walking funny but It's on my list for next year.

In short: Overall this was a really good race ,very pleased i did it.
In full: The only problems with this race were:
1) number of stiles, there was lots
2) the start and first mile or so were really congested
3) the finish was a bit monotonous (but nice and flat).

Apart from that though it was really good, with a bit of tinkering here and there it could be as good as the Lakeland Trails.

In short: Hard as nails, but one to remember
In full: Very hard going in sections and the constant stopping to go through gaps in the wall was a bit iritating - but this added to the complexity of the race. Thanks to all the organisers and marshalls...well done

In short: Thouroughly enjoyed it, tough but fair. Will come again.
In full: Well organised, first time over this distance and found it okay, thanks to the hills and slippy conditions it slowed you down, nice not to be full out all the way round.

In short: what a fantastic race!
In full: excellant .you have so much going on all the time, feet position, direction etc.some quite big climbs though out the race steep downhill as well then ends thankfully for a few mile of flat trail.very good markers.not sure to wear off road or road shoes, road shoes were ok as there is some road sections, but the down hills were interesting.everybody seemed to enjoying themselves, holding gates open for you.take it steady and you can run the whole race and enjoy it.10 out of 10.nice one.

In short: If you only do one 30K this year..........make it this one.....
In full: Well i expected it to be tough going and at times it was very tough going. Lots of downhill section too though so not all uphill but when it does go uphill with the conditions underfoot most runners ended up walking - it made sense. I dont normally do long off road races so this made a real change and i have to say i really enjoyed it. Nice to run it at a much more comfortable pace. If you like running through large open fields, dodging cows, climbing walls and stiles, sliding around in mud then this is the race for you. I got to come back and do this with friends next year i reckon....its a real challenge. Nice to have some hot food for sale at the end too - i really needed that. Thanks to all involved!
