In short: Jolly good festive fun
In full: Good organisation, friendly marshals, great crowd support (well it does help when you're dressed as an angel and everyone else is in waterproofs!) and free hot chocolate. The weather didn't spoil it although the hill was a bit muddy. The only problem was the directions from the M4 only applied for people coming the other way(!) so might help to put up a big sign on the motorway roundabout. Well done to the RNLI, the cheque's in the post :-)

In short: No rain, no gain
In full: Weather put a bit of a dampner on the atmospher and there was a sense that we needed to get on with it before freezing to death. The hill separated the stags from the bucks, but gave a cross country feel to the race. Did not appreciate the kids handing out the water at 5k messing about and not having any system. Also on the downside was parents letting their children play in areas people were running, but those few niggles aside, I'm glad I took part.

In short: A really great race. Horrible weather but a great warm atmosphere made up for it.
In full: My partner and I are getting married on 8th december at Margam park next year so it is a place that is really special to us. I think everyone would agree that you don't get scenery much better on a race. ~One tough climb around the 3 or 8K mark but its short so doesn't hurt too bad. A thoroughly enjoyable race. Will definatley be doing it again, though perhaps not next year!

In short: Wet, windy & muddy with a killer hill - but incredible fun. Great atmosphere, very friendly in a really pleasant location. It's beginning to feel a lot like Xmas...

In short: Top notch race
In full: A really well organised and enjoyable event in a great setting. Varied course makes a change for 10k runners used to long, flat stretches of tarmac. Despite its hilly profile, a pb is a possibility here, as the (frankly evil) hill encountered on both laps is more than compensated for by the glorious downhill charge which follows it. One slight gripe would be the km markers, which were nowhere near accurate resulting in some very 'interesting' splits, but that didn't detract from the event. Great atmosphere and a worthy cause, will definitely be back next year.

In short: Two laps in Margam Park with Small Hill in the middle.
In full: Nice enjoyable race. Perfect organisation and all for the RNLI. Mulled wine and hot choc for all finishers, baggage store, water half way, nice T-Shirt for an extra £5 (money goes to the RNLI), St Johns, excellent marshaling, nice family feel about it all. Nasty weather this year but once you are running it does not really make much difference. Trail shoes help as paths can be slippy and hill can be muddy. If you like this try the one next week in Merthyr Mawr (Nr Ogmore in Bridgend, not near Merthyr Tydfil for those who are geographically challenged)
