In short: Brilliant! Thsi was my first half marathon and I was terrified beforehand, but it was absolutely amazing!

In short: Great atmosphere
In full: Pleasantly surprised by how well organised this was compared to the Bristol Half. Especially the nice big Runner's Village. Toilets are always a problem at big races so no point in complaining about the queues here.
Music from Student houses and bands and plenty of spectators all the way along the course help to keep you motivated.
The goody bags could definitely be improved and there really should be a t-shirt included for the price. But on the up-side there was stacks of free Lucozade going around and the free pace bands helped me get a PB.

In short: Very well organised for such a big event - and perfect running conditions.
In full: Having heard reports of poor organisation on previous Bath HMs, I was pleasantly surprised by the smooth running of this event. Clearly the Race Director listens to what competitors say! I can think of few things that could be improved. Toilets are always an issue at events on this scale, as is the bag reclaim (perhaps bigger signage on the marquee for the differnt queues?). Seeing the winner come past on his second loop was a fantastic sight - well done Shiferaw! Pity my own performance wasn't up to it on the day - a very slow time due to cramp at 12 miles. Must train more!!

In short: New pb. Nice and flat course great day out.
In full: But my niggle is the value for money (or lack of it). £25 and what do you get for it? A bar of chocolate, a carton of soup and a couple of other energy foods. The criminal thing? The fact that you have to buy the tee shirts after the race. Both the Bristol half marathon and the GSR last year where the same price to enter as Bath. Bristol and GSR offered far more for the money.

Saying that, the start for Bath was a lot better than Bristol. And I knocked 5 minutes off of my PB so not all is bad.

In short: A grand day out Grommit!!
In full: Simply outstanding.
The problems of organisation seem to have been finally laid to rest.
The whole event from start to finish was superbly handled.
There will always be complaints, the petty and the constructive(the daftest one I heard, and it was meant, was "Youl'd think there'd be more toilet roll. Can't they get that right?"). There just ain't pleasing some folk.
My only "gripe"? That not all races are as well organised!.
See you next year!!
