In short: A great pre marathon race with very supportive friendly marshalls
In full: A little disappointed with 20mile start took 2 mins to get over the start and then spent 2miles trying to get past the slower 10mile runners. Maybe it would work better to start the 20milers off an hour earlier to avoid the congestion.

In short: A bit dull. But well organised and lovely marshalls...
In full: I ran the 20 and found it lacking in atmosphere on route. That isn't RRR's fault, the route and the massive hedgerows are just dull. Twice. Lovely runners (particularly the lady who helped me at mile 16) but I didn't really enjoy it. Chilly too. That isnt RRRs fault either!

In short: Brilliant event - perfect preparation for a spring marathon. Thank you to Reading Roadrunners
In full: Thank you to Reading RR, all the marshals at race HQ and around the course, air cadets and scouts who staffed the drink stations, British Red Cross, spectators, chip removers, bag supervisors, photographers and all the participants for making this an excellent event.

The weather was kind - dry and perfectly cool and the route was just as remembered from 2007.

The course is undulating with a few short, gentle hills one short, steepish downhill around 8 miles. The 2 lap 20 mile race is ideal preparation for a spring marathon and was perfectly placed on the training plan for London.

A high proportion of club runners with strong camaraderie made for a friendly race.

Mile markers were spot on apart from 7 & 17 which were a shade late and the roads were predominantly traffic free - all the motorists I encountered were considerate to the runners.

The marshals are super efficient and are friendly and supportive especially when runners take the opportunity to recognise and thank them.

A couple of suggestions to make the event even better:
(1) more toilet facilities at the start - there were long queues only a few minutes before the race
(2) please can we have drinks in paper cups because the plastic ones split when crunched up for drinking on the move

Overall, totally recommended

In short: Great race, well organised and well marshalled, great goodie bag with a medal :-D
In full: Haven't done this race for a couple of years and had forgotten what a great race it is. Apart from the couple of small climbs it was quite a quick course and anytime lost on these was soon picked up. It was well organised and well marshalled. Loved the goodie bag and the medal, I love getting medals. Also the cakes were lovely.

In short: Great race, well organised and a pleasant route.
In full: Really enjoyed the race today. The organisation was excellent and the course was very well marshalled - thanks to everybody involved for their efforts. Add to that we were lucky with the weather and I had a good morning out.

Mind you, that bloke whacking golf balls parallel to the road had me worried - I was waiting for a golf ball to hit someone on the back of the head. Hope he naturally sliced the ball rather than hooking it :-]

In short: Excellent rural race, good preparation for marathons and halves
In full: Brilliant atmosphere, ran faster than I expected. Good company - the lady from Portsmouth really encouraged me for my last 4 miles for my last 4 miles. Best goodie bag I have had and medal! Very well organised. I will be running it again, maybe the whole 20 next time.

In short: As good as always
In full: 4th time doing the 20 for me, and another excellently organised event. The course is fine - what hills there are are easily manageable with minimal pace drop, and there's a nice downhill finish. You just have to remember to be careful not tag on to someone doing the 10 miles as opposed to the 20 and end up going too fast on the first lap and then blowing up on the second. Thank you Reading Road Runners - see you next year :)
