In short: Perfect in every way, despite the hill!
In full: This is a tough but really good event. Forget 50,000 runners, this attracts 350-450 runners and is small and beautiful. Ludo and his team at the Fire Station and all his other helpers do a great job. It's in my home city so I'm biased but it really is worth doing depite the hill in the middle!

In short: A bit hilly but totally worth it for the scenery.
In full: Very well organised. Plenty of space to park if you drive but if you travel by train the station is nearby. The roads aren't traffic free but they are quiet. Overall a very pleasant experience just don't go along expecting an easy run! I would do it again.

In short: I thought it was a great race until I found I was listed as a non finisher !!
In full: My first half marathon, run in lovely surroundings on a disgustingly foul weather day. Hoped to beat 2 hours but it was not to be even though I was at the half-way mark at 57 minutes. Finished in 2:04:20 according to my watch but apparently not recorded as a finisher - most disappointed not to have an official time. I know the organisers have a tremendous job to do all as volunteers but even so it has to be got right.

In short: red lorry = near miss
In full: a rather miserable day but pretty well organised, and i forced myself to stop struggling long enough to look at the beautiful if sodden scenery. perhaps i've been lucky with other races i've done, but i was a little surprised at the amount of traffic on the route- at one point, a lorry was so impatient to get through before the oncoming traffic that i got pushed off the side of the road (no shoulder as it was a particularly narrow area) and almost fell. i know it's a small race and but i just did not expect to have to compete with so many cars (so be warned for next year!). the leisure centre facilities were fantastic and very welcome before my 2 hour drive home. many thanks to the cheery folks at the water stations and the few but brilliant supporters.

In short: Would we let the rain put us off?
In full: No matter the wind and the rain, the hills and the lack of views due to general murkiness, this was still great fun (and my first half). Superb massage service at the end - no wait and really skilled people doing it: I hardly ache at all today!

In short: Pretty route but lack of marshalls and support was a bit disappointingg
In full: Good for new runners as there was a good mix of new runners and "experience". Weather did not help make the most of the views and lack of marshalls on route was a bit disappointing.

Good to be able to use the lesuire centre facilities at the end of the race. Would rather a t-shirt than another medal for finishing.

Overall an enjoyable wet day!
