In short: So well worth it.
In full: I did this race in its inaugural year of 2006, and it was special then as it was today.

Plus points: Didn't run out of medals; mulled wine was great (missed out last year); NO clubby elitism again; brilliant marshalls; wonderful races for the children, made for a superb family atmosphere; and most importantly, donating funds to the Martha Trust, a wonderful and very necessary cause.

Points to watch: My Garmin Forerunner 301, triggered on Martin's "3-2-1 GO!", measured the course at 5.17 miles - perhaps take out the loop at the top of the hill or the new hairpin turn at the end of the first lap? I started at the front. That was it really. I just need to get some more hill training done in any case!

Well done to Martin and Cathy Burke for their superb organisation. Look forward to seeing you at Rye in the Summer - and what's this about a night race? Sounds good to me. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to one and all.

In short: An excellent race in glorious surroundings
In full: A tough challenge over quite hilly terrain, superbly organized with something for all levels of ability. The atmosphere was quite special. A lovely, friendly bunch of people, whether organizing, supporting, marshalling or running. A Merry Christmas to one and all.

In short: Fab scenery, friendly marshalls. Shame the mulled wine ran out before we finished, thanks to some thoughtless non-runners! Still enjoyed it very much.!i
