In short: Ouch those hills hurt
In full: My first XC half marathon and really testing. Time was way off my PB. Little bit disappointed with the bottlenecks in the first couple of miles which left you standing and waiting but otherwise a good race

In full: This was a great race! I was really worried as I hadn't done a lot of hill training before it but it was fine. I had, however, done quite a lot of running and was pretty fit. It is definitely challenging and some of the long hill climbs are hard. I found it easier to just keep going, stopping stops your momentum! Because i was watching where I was going and where my foot placement was the miles ticked over quite quickly and before I knew it the race was over.

Definitely challenging but achievable and the eurphoric feeling of finishing was worth all the hill climbs!

Great organisation too - for a small run there was a lot of effort put in and it was appreciated! Coming back new year to beat my time!

In short: A shock to the system for a road runner like me, but enjoyed the scenery and the sense of achievement of having finished
In full: I usually do 2 hours for a road half marathon and did 2 hours 25 minutes for this one which gives you some idea of the terrain.
A good change from the road though
