In short: My first 10k race. Great atmosphere and well organised. will definitely do again next year. Home town race so very pleasing to see the race entry full before the race day. Date of review: June 22, 2008
In short: Yet again really well organised, fast race that went like clockwork. Well done to Chris Barlow et al In full: This is my local race so i suppose that i am biased, but yet again went like clockwork. For a small race plenty of support with great organisation. Very flat course so plenty of opportunity for pb's. A little windy, but sun came out and i managed a pb so really pleased.Well done Chris Barlow and all your helpers.See you all next year Date of review: June 22, 2008
In short: Brilliant course, and extremely well organised. In full: Very fast 2 lap course, very well marshalled with excellent organisation. Doesn't matter if you are a beginner or experienced runner this race is for everyone, the course is as flat as you can get over 10k so PB's all round. The races popularity is growing every year so book early! Date of review: June 22, 2008
In short: A great race, well organised with a fantastic atmosphere. In full: Despite the 10k distance not being my distance of choice this has got to be one of my favourite races. It was well organised, had a brilliant atmosphere and a nice flat course. I loved the fact that it ran alongside the school fun day as that made it more of a day out - and meant my 2yo chief supporter could bet his face painted!! Date of review: July 2, 2007
In short: Made me a happy first-time 10k-er! In full: Anyone who has read the thread will know that l was nervous as hell about this, my first at 10k. All the advice was right, though - this was an easy intro to the distance; competitive enough not to feel like a fun-run but with plenty of breadth to the field.
It's been said elsewhere, but l also appreciated the fact that 2 laps allowed runners to plan for the second-time around the course (not that l had a very complicated plan - just keep going!!!).
Agree with others re the parking along Lichfield Rd, though - made for v tricky weaving through walkers/slower runners/spectators during the last 1k, which was irritating in terms of a PB. Date of review: July 2, 2007
In short: Good fast run In full: Good race this one. Arrived with about 2 minutes to go, as I hadn't checked the start time & (mistakenly) assumed it was 10.30, not 10 a.m. At least it was dry, almost hot in parts & windy in others. Did 42.07, quite pleased. Good turnout & almost congested in parts. Date of review: July 2, 2007
