In short: Excellent race
In full: An excellent race, well worthwhile doing, very good for beginners and for a New Year PB. Organisation was excellent as a lot of the marshalls encouraged you along the way and the atmosphere was great.

In short: Sort the start out!
In full: I was one of those who went down at the start and was then trampled by the entire field - ended up with St.Johns and now off for Tetanus boosters this afternoon!
Problem was caused entirely by slower runners pushing in to the front row. I was aiming for around 25 mins so put myself in the second row at the start. When the horn sounded, the guy in front of me just didnt move and then loads of other runners pushed through from behind and I was down and unable to get up untill almost the entire field was through. Its a shame, because other than the start its a great course with a really nice atmosphere.

In short: if you are a late finisher beware of the traffic
In full: There is a one track lane leading to the finish I watched open mouthed as the marshalls let the traffic out towards the late finishers. I would imagine that many of these unfortunate runners would not be that experienced. Trying to dodge speed humps as well as traffic on a narrow road may have put many of them off races. It would have been about 10 minute wait to get everyone in and I saw far too many people falling over at the finish.

In short: Great race,very quick
In full: You have to have your wits about you at the start as its far to crowded as everyone is saying.
Couple of minutes in the race is fine,nice and flat with a few keen spectators around the course.
Ive done this a few times now and i think there could be a few more signs to tell people where race headqurters and the start are.
Be back for the crush next year!

In short: Lethal start - I fell and was lucky to escape with cuts and bruises
In full: It is very dangerous to start such a big high-profile race on such a narrow street - I fell and was fortunate not to be trampled on.
