In short: A great race, well organised, marshalls helpful, friendly & encouragingg In full: Lovely course (not spoiled by only brief views of the M42), a bit narrow in places but that's OK, scenic and interesting. Finish was a little awkward because of the reseeding of the footie pitches. Very nice and unusual paperweight memento - wouldn't want to start a collection of them though! Good to see locals, marshalls and runners all cheering everybody on. Date of review: June 22, 2008
In short: A good scenic race, with playful challenges. In full: Overall a good race, a couple of teething problems at the beginnig, trying to orgainse everyone at the start. Next time have a megaphone. A good challenging route, just a bit confusing with runners in front swapping sides on the roads. Good off road bit near to the finish and well marshalled. Agree with the toilet situation for women. Lovely goody bag, cholcolate needed at the right time. Date of review: June 22, 2008
In short: Nice race In full: A nice race over what is an unusual distance to normally race at, good scenic route with very little traffic. Few little ups and downs with the biggest climb at about the 8 mile mark. Well marshalled and organised, can see this race growing in popularity. Maybe more toilets next year as numbers grow! Apart from that good event and great goodie bag at the end with lovely chocolate inside! Date of review: June 22, 2008
In short: Excellent race with only one main climb and goodie bag at the finish In full: Easy to find and very local for me. Main car park full quickly but plenty of other parking nearby. Toilets and showers in main sports club and bar. Well marshalled and very scenic race through quiet country roads and round lake before heading back to the sports club. One long climb at the 8 mile mark made it a tough finish but overall not too difficult a race. Nice goodie bag at the finish with a heavy glass paper weight instead of the medal. There was even a BBQ at the finish for those needing instant energy replacement. Date of review: June 22, 2008
In short: This race gets more popular each year - with good reason In full: Well done again Hampton Tennis - organisers, marshals, cooks and all. Great race that's really getting on the map with Midland clubs, but still got room for all paces - and a nice BBQ afterwards. Looking forward to next year already! Date of review: June 22, 2007
In short: Nice course In full: Like others I also found being asked to run on the left rather than the right a bit odd. I tried it for a while but felt vulnerable as I couldn't see the cars coming up behind me and also as most other runners went on the right anyway.
Directions to car park was a bit confusing. I didn't get a goody bag :-( Date of review: June 19, 2007
In short: Second time and 10 mins quicker than last year! V enjoyable but needs at least 1 more drink stop! In full: I'll do it again next year. I live in the village and walk to the start so that makes getting there easy! Needs at least one more drink stop and slightly better marshalling although in fairness the runners seemed to be ignoring most instructions regarding which side of the road to run on. All in all, well operated and very friendly atmosphere from all involved. Date of review: June 18, 2007
