In short: My first marathon and absolutely brilliant. In full: Great first marathon for me seems like lots of other runners enjoyed the race too! Before I went I said never again, and after I said never again. Went to watch London, decided that I would never run London and then got the e mail from the organisers and thought....well may be, so I guess I will be back if I can get in for next year! Thanks for a great race Brighton & Hove! Date of review: May 3, 2010
In short: Amazing inaugural race In full: Was it just me or did the section around the power station sap all the life from my legs? Thankfully the crowd on the way to the finish was awesome and could (did) resurrect the dead... Date of review: April 29, 2010
In short: Brilliant Brighton, Great Debut In full: My first Marathon having run loads of halves and I thought it was a great race. The crowds really turned out along the course, the weather was glorious, I loved running along the front and I thought the organisation was good. Yes a few more toilets at the start etc, etc could be changed but this is a great event; and well worth the dark, snowy nights of training to get to the finish. Date of review: April 28, 2010
In short: The crowds were superb! In full: Really great day and the route was mostly fun. I say "mostly" with the exception of the power station run, which was 18 - 22 miles; just when you're starting to wonder whether it might be a good time to pack the whole thing in and buy a pipe, a tartain blanket and a nice little car. It was a bit disheartening to run the hardes part of the race through such dreary surroundings.
Moan over - the crowds were truly uplifting, the organisation superb - the website already lists a load of changes they're making next year - including the aforementioned power station bit. Great that they got extra trains to run as well.
All in all, superb. Looking forward to next year already. Date of review: April 28, 2010
In short: Did both this year and I thought it was better than London In full: Excellent event, well organised and fantastic support, especially in Hove. Deserves to become a fixture in the calender. One change would be to have miles 20-22 with spectators Date of review: April 27, 2010
