In short: Good Fun Race. Start and finish need more thought.
In full: A good fun race for me. Easy to get parked (about 1/2 mile away in a multi storey) followed by a short walk in to the start area.

The start needs more organisation, I took 13 minutes to cross the start line. I had hoped to use one of the pacers but they were well gone by the time I crossed the start line. Also, there were quite simply not enough toilets for 6000+ runners and their supporters.

The finish was also crowded, taking 20 minutes to get through the tent, T-shirt in hand. I think this was partly caused by them running out of T-shirts in certain sizes, so people were hanging around longer than normal trying to find the right size.

The run itself was lovely, Nice run through the parks, then a nice fast drop from 7-10 miles, then flat along the front for the final 3. Really enjoyed it. Will probably give it another bash next year.

In short: Excellent event: mixture of city, parkland and promenade.
In full: 5th Liverpool Half Marathon and enjoyed this one most of all.
Support was good - and became fantastic at the end.
No problems with toilets at the start : yes, there were queues, but my advice would be to have a look around - some queues were huge, and some others quite short. I left the baggage bus at about 9:00, found a short queue and was in the starting pen at 9:15.
I would suggest that the entrance to the pens needs some re-thinking - it was very congested just to get in and took some manouvering to get through the crowd - once inside though was able to move to the correct start point with no problem.
Drinks stations good, although don't see the point of the 12.5 mile one.
Bring on the Marathon!

In short: Nice run, terrible organisation
In full: This was my first half having previously done plenty of 10k's. The course was enjoyable, a couple of miles of dull roads then 6 or 7 of nice parkland a a finish on the front - quite pleasant.

The whole day was spoiled by poor organization. There were not enough loos at the start and the start was a complete scrum, you hard to just force your way in - rubbish. Support was OK during the race and I enjoyed the run though the marshal that suggested that the 12m mark was "just round the corner" didn't help seeing as it was half a mile further on.

What I didn't enjoy was having to queue for at least half an hour for my t-shirt and goody back, the last thing in the world I wanted after an exhausting 13 miles was to be crammed in between two barriers for 30 mins.

It was a real shame and though it didn't really take the shine off the day as I was as pleased as punch to have completed a half it added unnecessary hassle and was pretty annoying. Not sure if I'll do it again, at the minute I'm leaning towards no.

In short: Very good shame about the toilets
In full: Good race yesterday, great atmosphere the only issue was the queue for the toilets before race start however this was a minor complaint as the rest of the day was perfect and I even got a PB

Thanks Liverpool see you next year

In short: Sort the start out please
In full: Overall not a bad event good course with the exception of the start which is far to narrow for the amount of people participating. Took me 10mins to cross start line! Drinks stations didn't seem to be able to cope with the amount of runners although I did get a drink at all. Some of the support around the course was minimal to say the least however was brilliant at start and finish. Would have appreciated a the collection of the "goody bag" taking less then 20minutes, good job it wasn't cold and raining because for what was in it wasn't worth the wait. Big city runs have moved on from cheap cotton t-shirts. Would I do it again yes but not every year if it clashed with Wilmslow.

In short: Quick, busy, well-supported race through city and parks.
In full: The plus points - loads of runners, great cameraderie, a great route (especially through Sefton Park), no real hills, and a good flat last few miles. Plenty of support, well-placed around the route to gee you up.
Downsides? Very congested in places, especially along the prom near the end - runners were bunching up to avoid walkers, and probably cost me a pb. The finish was pure congestion, just ran across the line and joined the back of a queue for the goddy bag etc.
Overall a great experience.

In short: My new favourite race
In full: This is the second time I've completed this race and both times I've set a PB! This is an excellent course and very fast. Anyone who enjoys the Half Marathon distance or is thinking of stepping up to 13.1 should do this race, well organised, not over crowded like some events but a very good atmosphere and also an excellent chance of a PB, what more do you want? A medal? you get one of those too!

In short: Extremely poor start...
In full: 3rd year doing this one, loved it and a new PB. If they going to up the numbers by a further 2000 they really do need a better/bigger start and also more toilets. Q'd 30mins for toilet then couldn't get anywhere near the start, really wanted to run with 7m/m pacer guys but sadly no chance of getting anywhere near. Please please please sort the start out or reduce the numbers. I have to say tho this is the best supported half marathons I've ever done, never far away from the cheering crowds. Thank you!

In short: Room for improvement
In full: As usual with this event the start and finish area need sorting out. The start area is worse than the Great North being over crowded and people just pushing in to get a better position. As for the finish area considering the size of the car park having to wait nearly 15 minutes to get my goody bag is too much spread the collection area out.
As for the goody bag the less said the better for the amount paid it isn't good value.
The crowds around the start/finish area were good as they were in the parks but this run could be a lot better.
