In short: Well organised. Undulating course.
In full: Many marshalls were out in force and ensured a very well organised day. It all went very smoothly (unlike my running style). The course is challenging but keeps you on your toes with plenty of twists, turns, ascents and descents.

In short: A very pleasant well organised local half marathon
In full: Based on other runner's comments it seems there were a lot of improvements from the previous year but I thought it was very well organised (weel done, David) and being able to enter on the day so easily and quickly was great for me personally. The half marathon had a very friendly feel to it and although not the most scenic of courses it was pleasant enough. There are no big hills but it is constantly undulating which means its hard to find a decent rhythm. However it doesn't mean fast times aren't obtainabale.
Special thanks to the marshalls which were excellent. Numerous in numbber, well organised in the road-crossings and many of them showing great support and encouragement to all runners.
I'll definitely be back to do this race again.

In short: Very Much Improved
In full: Very much improved on the 2010 race. The car parking filled up early but was well controlled. The race start and end on the track was good. Cross over points on the roads were very well marshalled. It's not the most scenic of routes but the undulating hills makes it a reasonable challenge especially as there are two large laps. A 9am start is also a good feature of this race. The introduction of chip timing was also an improvement on last year when the timings seemed a little out.

The race organisor had definitely taken onboard comments from last year so well done to the organisor and marshalls.

In full: First time for me and will definitely aim to do it again. Given the route it is very well marshalled; hardly scenic although one or two fleeting moments of tranquility. Nice to start/finish on the track too. PB helped.

In short: Great little local half
In full: This is a perfect distance for me to run a 20miler with a 13.1 blast in the middle, so I wasn't expecting more than a fast training run, but the race was great. Track start/finish, excellent, cheery marshalls, nice rolling hills to test yourself, and a smattering of fun local support (thanks go to the chap calling out the places as we can round the loop both times!). I'd happily pay a tenner to make all my training runs this nice. Good spread of pace too. Well done all involved.

In short: Well organised and listened to comments from last year
In full: A vast improvement on 2010 and not just because of the weather. The organisation was superb - the marshals encouraging and friendly, the mile markers accurate and there was no repeat of the horrendous toilet queues in 2011.

The course is hilly (for these parts) and not particularly scenic but it's difficult to see how the race could realistically be improved - congratulations to all those involved.

In short: A well organised event
In full: A good event. Car parking at the stadium became full early on so had to park in the back streets, but that was ok. However, there wasn't a bag drop. This would be a welcome addition next year, as there were loads of bags just left anywhere in the club house. Plenty of loos this year and the track finish was good. It's not a fast course, given the undulations, but a good pre-marathon tester.

In short: Very well organised event
In full: Well done to all involved - some organisational tweaks since last year which improved the start/finish significantly. Chip timing a great addition. Very well marshalled and thanks to all the locals who came out to encourage. Early start time is good too. Definitely one I'll do again
