In short: Well organised - plenty of marshals and water stations - but takes its toll on you In full: No especially long, arduous hills, but quite a bit of up and down which took it out on me early on. Race seemed to go like clockwork otherwise, and a nice number of local supporters lining the way and providing encouragement on the running track at the end. Date of review: February 26, 2012
In short: Tough Slog, but well worth the effort In full: No problems personally, but there does need to be a few more marshals at junctions, especially at larger side roads. There were a few incidents being discussed afterwards.
Where were all the Essex club runners, (inside M25 excepted)? Date of review: February 26, 2012
In short: A good half; well organiesd on a tough course. In full: Well done Woodford Green and Dave Hollingworth for another great RVHM. Well organised, great marshalling, tough course and great sprng weather. Appreciated the start and finish on the track, too.
In short: Good challenging course and well organised , with nice intimate friendly atmosphere In full: Organisers have definately taken on board feedback from previous years events and continued to improve the race, with chip timings and new track finish. Very well organised day and marshalled excellently. Will never be the fastest course, but is a good testing half marathon and would recommended as part of a training plan for any budding marathon runners. Look forward to running again next. In short: Great Organisation, not the best course in the world.. In full: Have done this twice now, much better weather this year though, course could be better but is limited by not being able to close the roads. Great support and marshalling. Date of review: March 1, 2011
In short: A tough course but well marshalled and organisers did a good job in responding to feedback to improve the race from previous years In full: I found that the changes made to the event regarding the start and finish positions as well as the chip timing improved the organisation, and overall the atmosphere was good with decent weather Date of review: February 28, 2011
