In short: Tough race but worth it In full: I knew this race was going to be tough but still never gave it the respect it deserves early on. scenery was beautiful, marshals excellent and organisation was bang on. haven't got a bad thing to say about this course except that it hurt, but that's my fault for not listening to everyone's advice to rein it in at the start. The finishers medal is brilliant and unusual design and the T-shirt and towel are great too.(I still haven't ate my flap jack yet) The variety of cakes on offer at the finish was unbelievable and every one of fthem looked delicious. If I would have written this review yesterday I would have said I wouldn't run it again but I am now counting the days to next years race. It's worth it just for the cake! Well done istead and ifield, you should be very proud of yourself's. Date of review: June 24, 2013
In short: Scenery, Atmosphere, CAKES!!! In full: Everyone goes on about the professional organisation, friendly marshals and race atmosphere, great scenery etc. But there is one thing which makes this race stand out against all others - AMAZING CAKE STALL! Really, a picture of this should be taken and used in future publicity shots! Thanks everyone and see you again in 364 days time Date of review: June 24, 2013
In short: Fabulous Race - I&I get it right year after year In full: I love this race - it fantastically organised, and the route is gorgeous. Have run this one the last 4 years in a row and it will continue to be the first race I put in emy calendar every year. Almost impossible to improve upon but how about bringing back the nice engraved wine glasses you gave out in 2011 in place of the winners trophies? Date of review: June 24, 2013
In short: A make you feel proud run. In full: From the moment we met the car park marshals we knew we were in for a great day. The ladies setting up offered us a cup of coffee from their own flasks as we were early and excited! It's a fantastic run, tough but not unachievable. The views , marshals, goodie bag, medal, T shirt and not forgetting the lovely towel make it a day you will never forget and always look back on and be proud to say "I did that" Date of review: June 24, 2013
In short: For all the best reasons...You will never forgot the North Downs Run. In full: Amazing..I love trail running and this has it all. You cannot go your whole running career without at least once doing the NDR, if you just like running then this is for you...if you're a stickler for great organisation and goody bags..you won't be disappointed...when races of a similar length and no way near as well organised are charging twice as much you have to question how they pull it off.
