In short: Good weather good run In full: Expecting rain, but weather was ideal. Windmill hill and the hill by the field after the 9k were testing. All in all a nice race. Date of review: September 28, 2005
In short: Well done to the organisers... In full: 1st time for this race and really enjoyed it!!!! Fast paced race with great atmosphere from the cheering of spectators to give much needed support. Even the Police joined in to take the pain away from the aching limbs...
Could have placed the drinks station on a flat surface and not on a hill - difficult to drink when lungs are ready to burst...

In short: Well organised, very scenic, but not a PB course In full: Lovely scenic route with a mix of lanes, town paths and off road parkland. A tricky course with 4 good climbs so not one for a PB but a good general atmosphere, well organised, nice t-shirt, plenty of parking, changing etc. In fact all the things you'd look for in a race. In short: Organisation from parking to finishing the race was excellent. A friendly atmosphere with great marshalls, shouting support. Only grumble is areas where passing runners is impossible, but overall a great race. Date of review: October 3, 2004
In short: this is the 4th year on the trot that i have run, and have enjoyed it each year, even though the hill out of Saffron Walden to Littlebury gets me every time!! Date of review: September 30, 2004
In short: Strider myself so a little biased but a great run with helpful people. In full: p.b. of a minute and 10 seconds, looking at the course I wouldn't have called it a pb course but I've run mine there two year in a row. Date of review: September 29, 2004
In short: First ever race and the organisers couldn't have made it better for me. In full: First ever race so I was apprehensive at first (where do I park, where do I change, Is there a drink station etc), but clear signs and friendly, efficient officials made it very easy. Some rough underfoot terrain on some of the paths and a couple of demanding hills made it much more of a challenge than my usual road running. It appears that someone had moved a marker arrow so some of the leaders took the wrong route, but in the middle of the pack I didn't have any problems. This has left me eager to race again and I will definitely compete in Saffron Walden next year. Date of review: September 27, 2004
