In short: AWESOME
In full: Loved the elite pen at the front, nice touch and was nice to be able to get away to a fast start. Only downside was that my chip didnt register but still battered my PB.
Well worth doing and I will be back next year

In short: Maintaining high standards - Well done organisers
In full: The Organisers are working hard to maintain the high standards of this event. Some good additions to previous years - Improved route, Music en-route, Sub 40 minute starting pen. Keep up the good work and Thank you.

In short: Simply brilliant!
In full: Superbly organised race, excellant support and entertainment. The drummers were great and because of the terrain and weather you could here them for ages! Plus Levi's was dishing out the high 5s! Can't wait to do this again next year!!!

In short: My first Mad Dog - it won't be my last!
In full: This is my first Mad Dog race and having read previous reviews on Runners World I was expecting big things.

It delivered.

From the free bus to race HQ to T-shirt collection everything ran like clockwork. If others mark the race down for the delayed start don't listen to them - it was the right decision; the council only put one bloke on the car park for c.2500 runners. Delaying the start made sure everybody could make the race.

The course was an out and back down the front at Southport which in Feb might not sound the most scenic but there was plenty to keep my attention, the steel band and singers along the route were a nice touch and the support received from the marshals and Air Cadets stood in the cold was brilliant.

All in all this is the best 10k race I've done and I can't wait for Feb '14 for the next one.
It should also be pointed out all profits go to charity though how they can make a profit with such good quality t-shirts and medals I will never know!

In short: My favourite race
In full: Fantastic event. The organisation was spot on in all respects, from the build up to the event (the pre-race emails, as well as being useful, always raise a smile!) to the day itself.

Yes, there was a delayed start, but only to allow those waiting for buses at the car park to get to the start line. In other circumstances this might have been an issue, but it was communicated well, and there were plenty of places to escape the cold pending the eventual start.

The marshals are some of the friendliest I have experienced, and the runners themselves were a really good bunch.

Value for money is extraordinary - I really don't know how so much can be squeezed out of such a low entry fee. I would pay the entry fee for the quality of the event alone, but add to that a technical t-shirt, a great medal and a goody bag choc-full of all sorts of delights….and you have yourself a champagne race for beer money!

In short: Well organised friendly 10K
In full: Good information building up to run to ensure smooth running. Only hiccough really was out of their hands... a late start due to queues at the park & ride apparently. Even so, there were facilities to keep warm whilst waiting. Nice flat course (what else would you expect in Southport)! PB potential depending on the wind strength!
