In short: Very good. In full: Overall a very good race. The weather was shocking with the wind making the first 5k very difficult. I had also tried to be courteous starting further back in the field but spent the first 2k trying to overtake people which was very difficult as it was so crowded although this soon spread out after 2/3k.
In short: A definite on my running calendar, can't recommend enough In full: I ran this race last year and thoroughly enjoyed it so was looking forwards to it today. It did not disappoint. The weather was pretty bad- ridiculous headwind for the first 3/4k which might have put paid to a few PBs- but it is a fast course nontheless as very flat and plenty of space once you get out of the start. Organisation- from the pre race emails, courtesy car park buses, goody bags, baggage drop- was all excellent. No complaints at all. The technical Tshirt is great quality, as is the medal. I even got an extra tech tshirt (last year's) in my goody bag which was a nice suprise! will definitely be back. Date of review: February 9, 2014
In short: Adrian (and his magnificent volunteers) does it again. In full: I love this race. Great out and back traffic free course made more interesting this year on facing the gale force winds on the way out and being blown back with the wind behind on the way in. Amazing! Those marshalls were outstanding giving constant support and encouragement despite standing around in icy gales for a couple of hours. Thank you. The live music en route was a real bonus and there was plenty of everything that a runner could want: free park and ride, baggage storage, spacious warm venue, sufficient loos and good feeling. Disagree with previous comment about no water at end - I had water from kind volunteers busily pouring it out with probably numb hands. Superbly organized as ever with proceeds to charity. Well done Adrian and thanks to everyone involved. Date of review: February 9, 2014
In short: Excellent First 10k, would recommend to anyone In full: I survived the Mad Dog 10k, this was my first race since I was at school (Left in 1989) I decided to make this my first race at the age of 40. My target time was 01:20 my official time 01:13:25. I couldn't have done it without all the great runners, also the organisers and marshalls who were very supportive and cheering when they could see you were struggling and also my personal trainer Jason @ High5 Fitness & Wellbeing. A very well organised event even for the first timers. Would definately recommend to either beginners or advanced. Date of review: February 9, 2014

In short: Us usual, there's something a bit special about this one In full: I'll get the negatives out of the way first. There's no need for 500ml bottles during the race, most people took a sip then ditched them. There was also no water at the finish, unusual as there normally is on this event. The finish straight, all 500m of it, had no flags or whatever see you could see where it was. Oh and the first 4k was into a horrendous head wind but we can't blame the organisers for that :-)
So, negatives out the of the way, now to positives. There something a little bit special and bonkers about this run. The atmosphere is one of the best I've encountered, the organisation is top knotch. The route is pretty good, heading out along the sea front, into town for a couple of K then back along the front. The start is lovely, it's at a school so there's plenty of room to keep warm indoors and theres's nice indoor loos. The running tops and medals are brilliant. The The high point for me is always the great atmosphere, the brilliant entertainment (there's a band every 2 km or so on the course and Meatloaf was spectacular his year), the friendly marshalls, the whole thing. It always feels to me that this is just about a few guys who've just said "Lets do a 10K and make it BRILLIANT" and thats what you get. Not perfect but great fun anyway. We'll be be back next year. In short: Lived up to expectations In full: Excellent organisation. Lots of emails prior to the event. Felt that runners at the start should have been grouped to finishing times, as I spent first 0.5 mile trying to get past very slow runners! The Tee shirt is excellent quality. Very pleased with goody bag. Not many spectators today, but understandable because of the very windy conditions. Enjoyed the bands. It would have been difficult for them due to the weather. Got a PB, so am very happy. Date of review: February 9, 2014
In short: Opera singers, Elvis & gales - but glorious! In full: I love this run - brilliantly organised, wonderfully friendly, excellent support from the marshals, locals and cracking bands. Weather & train disruption can not be held at the organisers door, but all the positives can.
Who let the dogs out? Adrian & his merry band...and we should thank them! Date of review: February 9, 2014
