In short: Hilly but can afford to go flat out at 12M as rest really is all downhill
In full: As long as you don't go mad on the long climb from miles 2 to 3 there is plenty of opportunity to make up time. I preferred the course to Watford

In short: Gets better organised each year.
In full: Good organisation this year, and even the weather was better! Still don't like those hills, though.

In short: Beautiful run through varied, undulating countryside
In full: Great weather for it. Slightly concerned by amount of traffic on the course - particularly the extremely fast clumps of racing cyclists coming in the opposite direction!

In short: Scenic, hilly route. Some adjustments could improve the event though.
In full: The route is lovely, undulating landscape through a variety of farmland and woodland on minor roads.

The event could be improved by:
- more toilets (what event couldn't though!)
- supervised bag storage. When I collected my belongings there was no sign of supervision. On the plus side, nothing was missing.
- warning the local cycling fraternity. There was conflict between the single-track remaining road users and cyclists coming down hill, along with runners coming up-hill providing language that would make my mother blush (from all parties).

In short: The views and downhills made up for the hard bits.
In full: Really pretty race, and there are good down hills as well as challenging up hills, it was my first time at this race and would definately go back.

In short: Deserves its gold rating
In full: Pretty much a flawless event. Lovely route, with plenty of challenging climbs throughout but a very fast downhill last 3 miles.

Excellent marshalling, a smattering of welcome spectator support and (this year) very considerate drivers on the roads.

Nice medal and slick organisation. There's simply nothing not to like about this race.

In short: A Cheeky Little Race
In full: The organisation was much better than last year and the comments about the waterstops last year were clearly listened too and acted on. The entry for locals on the day before needs looking at now but on the whole this race goes from strenght to strength.
