In short: Scenic and mildly challenging course. In full: Well organised event and a great race. Scenic and interesting with some challenges throughout. It is not especially hilly though and should not put you off. I would recommend this if you have not done it. Date of review: November 29, 2009

In short: My first half-marathon. But certainly not my last!! In full: The good old English weather came out to play and the skies opened! Unfortunatly 10 minutes after i'd handed my waterproof over to Mrs. Darcy at the start line!
Nice course, based on everyone's comments about hills i was expecting this to be tougher than it was. Race was well organised, started on time (with the world's loudest starter pistol!) and the marshalls on the route all had an encouraging word to say. Date of review: November 29, 2009

In short: Wet & hilly - but excellent! In full: The heavens opened for about 5 miles - ok I'm wet now - you can stop raining !
A challenging undulating/hilly course - well marshalled - how loud was the start pistol !
Not a PB but a course best for myself by 7 minutes. Date of review: November 29, 2009

In short: Scenic challenging course In full: The walk to the start was a bit treacherous but mainly due to the weather rather than lack of organistion. Great run, very scenic. Was impressed by the number of water stations handing out bottled water. As the route progressed, the marshalls encouragement became more vocal. Not a route for the faint hearted as quite hilly, however not as difficult as originally feared. In fact was only 2 minutes off my PB so all in all a good day out and will be included in my running diary. Date of review: November 26, 2008

In short: Worth the early start . . . In full: You would not expect to get a PB here . . . I did though, and I think a few others did too. Miles 10 to 12 were a bit tough / relentless, but the rest was pleasant enough. Slightly muddy getting to the start, but you couldn't really fault the excellent marshals . . . thanks to the police too . . . Date of review: November 24, 2008

In short: Worthy challenge for a first timer In full: My first half marathon. I found it a challenge, both due to the hilly nature of the course and to the weather conditions. It was so satisfying to finish inside my expected time and completing this course will give me great confidence in future races. The organisers & marshalls were superb in their support.
