In short: Superb scenary and PB potential providing the weather is kind to you
In full: Absolutely brilliant race. I ran the full marathon and the organisation is superb. This must be a challenging event to stage given the remoteness of the water stops, but you wouldn't know from the setup. They put buses on to take us from the finish to the start. Beautiful scenary all the way along. I hope to be back again.

In short: Half Marathon.....
In full: Really well organised race from the rugby club registration to bus ride to start to a welcome cup of tea at the end. The 13.1 miles in between were good too, although I found that final slope a killer. Had nothing left for the final mile but a great pb and friendly pace group on the way round. I'll be back.

In short: Awesome!!
In full: My first time at the distance and what a race to start with. Organisation was top notch - well done Ian Milne and the team at Matlock AC; scenery was stunning and weather worked in the runners favour as well. plenty of potential for getting stuck on long lonely stretches which could hamper attempts at a quick time, but generally flat and if you hook up with someone else going at your pace (which I was luck enough to do) then you should be fine. The big downhill at the end is either painful, fun or welcome depending on your mental disposition; it certainly gave me a boost when I was in danger of slowing too much!! I will certainly do this race again; it is first rate.

In short: Great race
In full: Well organised, good support, great scenery, everything you would want from a race. I'm not sure it's a PB course though, generally times seamed a few minutes down on London.

In short: Fantastic scenery
In full: Only did the half, but some fantastic scenery along the way. The two large drops towards the end are definitely welcome, but can be murder on the knees. Only one complaint though; there were a couple of places at which, if you couldn't see the runner in front, you could have easily gone the wrong way as there were no signs to tell you which direction to run. Overall though, a very good event.

In short: Fabulous race.
In full: This is a fabulous race with great organisation. Very freindly.
There are some long lonely stretches on this course that can be more testing than the downhills which by the time you reach them you at least know your approaching the closing stages. The support was great around the various water stations.
