In short: A Great race. It even has a race director who knows where the best pubs are !!!!
In full: 5 minutes quicker than last year. Suffered a bit on the hills towards the end but very enjoyable race with great marshalling and great pubs nearby. DO IT !!

In short: Scenic, well-organised half with some cheeky hills
In full: My second year in a row here, and enjoyed the run again. Although it wasn't as hot as last year, it was still warm and humid under the trees, and there are some very testing parts of the course. I can't work out if a two-lap race means it's easier knowing how far it is to the finish, or harder because you know what you've still got in store?
It's a good race, but would be better I feel in a cooler month - late September/early October would be beautiful. But in a packed race calendar, I ought just to be grateful the race is there at all.
Could well be back next year to make it 3/3

In short: Lovely course and very well organised race
In full: Scenic course but without much flat. 2 lap course with ups and downs and one longer hill. Good marshalling and plenty of water stations. Finish in lovely grounds of public school.

In short: This race was like running up hills in a Sahara desert, the only thing that was missing was the mosuitoes.
In full: Burnham beeches half marathon is a tough half marathon. Although this is only a half marathon I have ran it three times and still struggle to run it under 2 hours.
It is a chip timing race organised by famous the ‘Jand Results’.
The major factors this year for me under performing were:- racing on the Tuesday at Petts Wood, also the soaring heat at 29 degrees, which affected my asthma, which was exacerbated whilst running through Burnham joggers Woodlands.
This race had many hills, it caused many runners to walk rather than run up hill. Even the strong fit Gladiator in his full gear was feeling so fatigued during first half of the race, I was concerned he was going to fall on his sword!
400 metres near the finish, a naughty female marshal shouted at me and said ‘Try and beat those 2 men in front of you’. I was hot and tired and thought she must be absolutely bonkers, but somehow I managed to out run 3 male runners to the finish line. I was absolutely knackered.
The medal I received was beautiful, which bears similarities to my Yately 10k medal. I must say the company who makes these medals are pretty damn good!
Burnham beeches half marathon is always a favourite of mine.

Burnham Joggers also organise Clivendon Cross County , an awesome 10k race, in December (this race fills up very quickly). Two popular races for Runners World Top one hundred races.

In short: Tough race through beautiful woods and great organisation
In full: Hot and hilly! Great race but could have done with more water stations in my view. Race HQ in grounds of beautiful school. Car park some walk from start.

In short: Extremely friendly, well-organised and enjoyable!
In full: Lovely countryside and a great atmosphere. Much hillier than I was expecting, but definitely worth it (the swimming pool at the end is a stroke of genius by the way, thankyou so much to the school who made it available!), and we had a lovely picnic in the grounds afterwards. The course is definitely challenging, with much steeper ups and downs than I'd pictured from the 'undulating' description, so wasn't PB material for me (five minutes off my PB in fact, though it was very hot too ;-) But it seemed to suit others very well, and it was certainly picturesque. Many thanks to all the organisers and volunteers, who did a fantastic job. Overall, I'd wholeheartedly recommend this one - a great day out!

In short: Tough but great organisation & atmosphere
In full: A few more hard hills than the description suggested and the heat on the day made it tough overall. Well done to the organisers and great spectator turnout.

In short: Excellent despite hot weather
In full: Organisation was flawless. Race is through woodland, but on tarmac which I prefer to trail running. Undulating course with some slightly longer hills. I loved it !

In short: Those hills, I'd forgotten about those hills
In full: Did this in 2007 and was tough then but a nice sheltered scenic route, good for heat training...forgot just how hard the second loop was and came back for more!
