In short: Fantastic atmosphere and well organised
In full: Last year I was just watching but soon after got the running bug and this year was part of it. My second half after doing my first last summer and took 10mins off my time so was thrilled. Fantastic atmosphere through the town, really enjoyed going through twice. Loved the finish with the down hill just before entering the finish area. Rural part was a hard slog. Hope to be part of this for years to come.

In short: A challenging run in the 'shires
In full: First time at Fleet but i know the area and had driven the course, great set up at the start, minor whinge is people could go where they wanted and there were way too many slower peopleup front. Course was challenging with lots of hills and undulations but nothing too knackering. Route was great with a couple of loops through the town and then out into the surrounding countryside which i love, finish was fab and just generally a really nice quick race. Good medal as well and the marshalls and supporters were fabulous. Seemed to have a lot of marshals on the way so thanks to them, always nice to see their smiling faces. Good for a challenging run but also good for novices as there was a nice mix of people. Lots of pbs this year (and for me), perfect running weather, just an ace way to spend a morning!

In short: First TIme Runner and enjoyed every minute. The crowds were great through the town and villages.
In full: The only negative point would be that the traffic wasn't controlled through Church Crookham.

In short: Excellent organisation & marshalling & good race village. Undulating course.
In full: A very well organised and marshalled event with great support in the first part of the race. Not a scenic course until the latter half of the race when on rural, traffic-free roads. Not a particularly good course for a PB as quite undulating with inclines at 11, 12 & 13 miles, although a fast downhill to the finish. Good race 'village' providing bag storage, refreshments, medical tent, etc. I'd recommend this race for 1st-timers, but not PB chasers as not ideal for that.

Good range of prizes catering for all age categories. A model for other event organisers to follow.

Thanks to all involved in making it a successful event.

In short: Excellent organisation, great atmosphere, very friendly
In full: This is the best half marathon I have run, and although I am no frequent racer, the organisation, atmosphere & encouragement around the course must be hard to beat. The marshalling is very comprehensive and yes, the course goes around the town (twice) but then it is a town race. The country sections are undulating but I felt it was a challenging course which rewarded you if you put the effort in.

In short: Excellent event for a first timer - really enjoyed it
In full: Lived in Fleet for 10+ years and this is my first crack at it. Didn't have a clue what to expect but found it extremely well organised, loved the route. The out of town section was a little tough going with few spectators to cheer you on and the last hill at the end sapped any remaining energy, but loved every minute of it. Definitely recommend it.

In full: As a preparation for VLM 2011 this was perfect. I would have been happy with just getting under 1:45, but ended up with 1:41:47. The fact it was a fast course, I decided to go for it instead of hold back. Shame I had to rush off back to London, as I would have liked to soak up the post race atmosphere.

In short: Another cracking Fleet Half, third year for me and the atmosphere gets better each year
In full: A pretty flat fast course with loads of support and for the last 3 years cracking weather. Few course changes this year but made it better for spectators as went back past the start before heading out into the country. This has become a firm favourite and I hope to do it again and again!
