In short: Next Time I Think I Will Just Run The Half !
In full: First, for a city event, I found it better organised than Bristol and Bath, and miles better than the GNR which is now just tooo big.

I did the full marathon and was looking for a good for age time for London next year. However, despite getting a personal worst time, and failing by nearly 20 mins, I would still recommend this event.

I think that the first half was good, and although undulating, I would rather have run round the same loop again, as what slowed me in the second half was that lake & the wind !! What kept me going, was the marshalls in the second half of the race who were very freindly and all offered words of encouragement on parts of the course where there were no other spectators. So a big thank you for all those who must have sat for hours by a windy lake looking at a long row of tired looking runners.

Maybe back again... but next time, I think I will just do the half.

In short: Great first half, much worse second half!
In full: The first half of the race was excellent and took in some nice Nottingham landmarks and scenery. I wasn't such a fan of the second half of the race as about 90% of the runners ended at the half marathon stage so a lot of atmosphere was lost. Also the route ran around the national watersports centre, which is just a large square lake, which you had to run around for what seemed like forever. Aside from this minor route problem it was a great event and well organised.

In short: Good race. Thoroughly enjoyed myself
In full: Hills at the the 8 mile mark. Aaaaaargh. Apart from that good scenic race, with good support from marshalls and crowd. Will be back again next year

In short: Very good but the start could do with being structured alittle better
In full: Its my home town so i always like running this race, organisation is first class as is the marshalling and drinks stations, support is excellent as always, well on the first half anyway, only criticism would be perhaps the start, perhaps it could be divided into "waves" much like City of Manchester is so you dont get the crowding straight away, a 5 min gap between waves should give people chance to spread out a little more, other than that, no complaints, i will def be back again next year.

In short: Interesting course, well organised, bit pricey
In full: Good Weather, interesting course and well organised. Only complaint is people starting too near the front so seemed to sepnd a lot of the early part of the race weaving round people although saying that managed a pb so not all bad.

In short: Enough interest to keep you coming back...
In full: Ran the full, and was expecting a hilly first half - it really wasn't severe, just a bit of undulation and pretty easy to conserve energy then glide down the downhill sections. Really enjoyed the scenery and the support was excellent.

Second half was interesting. It's hard to adjust to begin with; less runners and crowds, plus the roads are residential, then country, then around the rowing lake. The wind. My god, the wind. Last six miles were HARD.

The start needs to be sorted out - too many slower runners starting near the start line and slowing others. Organisers should be clear it's selfish behaviour. A city marathon will always be crowded, but I started at the sub 3 hour marathon marker and the crowds were a joke for the first three or four miles.

Many people have mentioned the marshalls. I think they were exceptional. Constantly cheerful, supportive and in abundance. On two separate occasions they ran after me to give me water they thought I'd missed. You wouldn't get that anywhere else.

It's possible to run fast too - I managed a pb and found the whole day thoroughly enjoyable beginning to end. Will do again.

In short: Excellent organisation - 1st half much better than 2nd
In full: A well-organised event. Good car parking, excellent marshalls, loads of drinks stations, great support, and for the 1st half a really enjoyable course. 2nd half was quite different, with twisty turns, double back sections, loops, dog-legs, bumpy tracks and a gale blowing. I'd come back to run the half, but not the full.

In short: Excellent race - No problems
In full: Soon as you hit Nottingham there were signs to the car parks.
Good course, can't complain about the hills as it started and finished in the same place - overall flat.
Loved the medal.
Bottled water (better than cups) and sports drinks.
Nowhere near a PB, but probably down to all the pies I keep eating and not much training.
Highlight was the boos and hisses (in jest) when the sherriff of Nottingham was introduced at the start !
