In short: The perfect first marathon! In full: Loved it! What a beautiful place and an excellent race all round. Made me proud to be Scottish. Weather was cracking and even got a bit sunburn after beating my target time of 3h50 by 5 minutes. Thanks Lochaber. Date of review: April 27, 2008
In short: Fantastic weather, fab location, PB and super-organized. In full: Didn't the organizers do well ? Weather was great, plenty of water & sports drink. Friendly atmosphere although I think the standard of runners likely above average. Nice T shirt. Real PB potential. Do it. Date of review: April 27, 2008
In short: The drizzle and wind cannot deter from this well orhanised event. A must for all. In full: Never mind the weather, who needs the heat of London! Enjoy the scenery, the warm convivial atmosphere and the single malts. Will be back again next year. Date of review: April 30, 2007
In short: See below In full: Fors: Excellent organisation, nice course, friendly people, drinks stations well manned and organised, no bumping and jostling, relaxed atmosphere, food and warm surroundings after the race Against; Lonely at times, a weeny few inclines at the end, medal (!) some might not like and out and back (I do so fine for me)Rain and more rain sapping the spirits!!!
First marathon and a great experience to remember Date of review: April 29, 2007
In short: One I'll never forget! In full: Despite the 'out and back' route I never got bored - How could I with scenery like that to look at??!!
By the time I finished I felt as tho I knew every single runner, marshall and supporter by face if not by name!
This has to be one of the friendliest races by far!
Spot-on organisation. My only downside was the lack of marshalls in the last 2 miles - I was really suffering from cramp and as the field was so small felt very isolated in parts when I may have needed some help.
Hopefully will be back next year! Date of review: April 28, 2007
