In short: Hilly, Wet, Windy and only for the insane. Not for the flat tarmac lovers ;-). A real challenge and good 'day' out
In full: Great race to challenge yourself and make you realise anything else is a bit easy compared to this. Nice senery to look at as you struggle round really test your metal. Great support, TV cameras, Zipvit products nice finish it's a must do once in your life race.

In short: My favourite race of the year.
In full: Thouroughly enjoyed the race and though I was very slightly slower than last year, did much better than I was expecting. Weather was horrendous (not as bad as 2008) but that just adds to the challenge. As in previous years organisation was excellent and marshalls, spectators and fellow runners all very friendly. This was my fourth time and will be back next year.

In short: Absolute cracker of a race
In full: As if runnning up and down for 26.2 miles wasn't enough, you get some horizontal rain and in-your-face wind thrown in as well.
But you don't feel any pain as you run by 3 different lakes, alongside a steam railway line and through some picture postcard views.
The local people come out to cheer you on, the water stations are plentifully stocked, and the other runners love to have a chat as you run alongside each other.
Brilliant!

In short: Smply the best!
In full: Fantastic organisation and incredible support, which wasn't dampended by the interesting weather conditions.

It is the only marathon whch I will do every year - no other marathon comes close to it in my view!

In short: Probably the best marathon around
In full: My second running of this race and despite wind, constant rain and a sore hip I managed to beat last year's time by 9 minutes.

It's a tough race but the magnificent views (although slightly obscured this year!), mind-blowing setting and great camararderie really make it special.

Ample aid stations and a surprising amount of support most of the way around. Excellent organisation...although I have a slight, slight gripe - this year's 'small' tshirt wasn't small at all, not like last year's nicely fitted one. Ah well, details.

Thank you Eryri. I'll hopefully return next year and for many years to come!

In short: Who needs sunshine....
In full: when you've got a marathon like this?! Amazing scenery (when you could see it - wearing glasses really doesn't help in the rain); fantastic support from marshals, supporters, locals and fellow runners alike (thank you all); and a challenging but ultimately rewarding course really brings out the best of one of the top events in the UK. It's the first event in my calendar every year, so I'll be back to complete my set of 6 coasters next year. Then I'll have to aim for twelve......
