In short: Hills Hills Hills!
In full: Really good and well organized race.

As the other posts suggest very hilly but for me that makes it all the more fun.

Not a PB course but the local support is second to none so thanks to everyone who turned out to help make this a great event.

If there could be a criticism about this race it would be the finish. I went over the line at 1.49 and could not find any water anywhere; it would also have been nice to have received a goody bag with some sort of recovery bar drink/gel/bar.

I am sure that there are many companies who would be prepared to provide the contents of a goodie bag free of charge for what would be very direct advertising to almost 4000 finishers. Surely someone missing a trick here?

Having said all of that this was a brilliant race and I commend it to all.

Thanks to everyone who made this such a great day out.

In full: Wow...What an event! Superb atmosphere and massive local support. Oranges , bananas, and all sorts of fruit and that was just a few of the people dressed in fancy dress that passed me by on the course!! The final insult was the dalmation that passed me in the home straight - tail wagging in the sea breeze as if to wave goodbye to me! Organisation was superb and very friendly all round. Not for the feint hearted as the hill climbs for the first half is serious stuff. I decided to avoid looking at my gps watch until the half way point as I knew I would not be ahead of my usual pace. In fact I spent more time looking behind me to see if someone was dragging out of my shorts such was the pull of the hills! The final two mile run along the sea front seems to go on forever but the rows of support on the run in lifted my spirits to enable a spirited sprint finish. Great job by the organisers and I will be back next year. The Gym Reaper...Run for your lives!

In short: A great Half Marathon
In full: Having just done Brighton And Bath I enjoyed Hastings the most. The challenge of the hills and the great crowd make it one of the better half marathons in the UK.
I think Hastings Lions did a great job but things could be improved upon.
The finish needs to be sorted out:
- Goody bags for everyone
- Keep non-runners out of the finish area as it was mad in there with everyone scrambling for hot tea (or me for a cold drink)
- My chip time did not record and I noticed many gaps in the results for others. I've emailed Sports Systems about this but have not had a reply.
I'll be back to tackle that hill again.

In short: One of the best Half Marathons in the South East.
In full: Fantastic crowd support as usual. The hills don't get any easier, as each year goes by. This was my 4th time at Hastings, and i will be back for a 5th next year.

In short: Amazing half-marathon - thanks Eric and all of Hastings!
In full: Love this race which seems to get bigger and better each year. The hills are always a challenge but another slowdown for me is the fact you feel you need to thank so many people for the incredible support! It is really 2nd only to London in my book - amazing and thanks to everyone who turns out at Hastings to cheer the runners on.

Great weather this year as well - that makes 2-years running. Fingers crossed for a 3rd - the last 2-miles to the finish can be so much different with a nasty headwind!

See you next year - for others thinking about it get your entry in!
