In short: WELL ORGANISED In full: It was my first time running Bath. You cannot fault the organisation. Smooth at the start although the first 2 miles were slower than I'd liked, dure to volume of people. The goody bag, medal & t-shirt excellent. My only complaint is of other runners who are totally oblivious to people around them. So many time runners would cross across peoples running lines, resulting in evasive action needed in preventing a trip &/or fall. Please next time be a bit more considerate to other runners, or next time I may not be as understanding... Date of review: March 7, 2011
In short: Great atmosphere! In full: Pluses - fab atmosphere, decent goody bag with Tshirt and medal. Nice runners village, gorgeous city to run in Areas for improvement - way too many bottlenecks. Trying to get in and out of the runners village is painful. Toilets - don't bury the urinals for men amongst the cublicles - noone knows they exist and queue for ages to find empty stalls! In short: Overall enjoyable, but very busy and long inclines! In full: I should have done some hill training for this, but otherwsie I enjoyed the track. It was a shame that the Green's and Orange's were let out together as it meant there were a few miles of the Green's overtaking making it quite slow and stressful for those first few miles.
It was my first half and I was really glad to finish without any walking. It was quite disheartening to see so many people walking. Date of review: March 7, 2011
In short: Really enjoyed race In full: the weather was good, the crowds were very supportive, organisation good, and a nice medal, t-shirt and goody bag. Would certainly do this one again. Enjoyable race for supporters to watch. Date of review: March 7, 2011
In short: Excellent In full: My first time at Bath. Really enjoyed it and very impressed with the organisation. Many thanks to all the marshalls. Really fast course which helped my time no end. One of the few out and back courses where it felt like there were more downhills than up. Definitely one to put in the calendar for next year. Date of review: March 7, 2011
In short: Very good race In full: I was impressed by the organisation of this event, everything went smoothly, and it seemed to me that all the organisers had everything under control.
The course wasn't particularly scenic, I was under the impression that Bath was a prettier town than perhaps the route had chosen (although to see that a few more hills might be necessary). The crowds were supportive and there was somebody cheering most of the way round.
I was disappointed by the organisers insistence that no headphones were allowed, and forced myself to run without music for once (which I found was bearable). This is understandable considering the laps and overtaking slower runners on the second.
Definitely one to consider again for next spring. Date of review: March 7, 2011
In short: Well-organised race with an excellent atmosphere In full: Well-organised race, with fantastic crowd support for the majority of the route. Loved the drumming bad in Queens Square! Nice medal, t-shirt and goodie bag - thank you to the organisers. Date of review: March 6, 2011
In short: You really cannot complain! - great race In full: I do wonder what some people expect. It was my first Bath Half and I've done a few. Well organised and definetly not hilly. Can't understand where people get that one from, A few short inclines and lots of speed long down hill stretches. Great support and loved the 3 piece Jazz rockers out in the sticks. No complaints. In short: Excellent HM! In full: Second time I've done this race. Really enjoyed the run, quite hilly in some parts. Was extremely cold to start and then got very warm, I opted to wear lots of clothing during the race and ended up regretting it at the tenth mile. Overall excellent atmosphere and enjoyable race.
