In short: took my own time. For those competitive folks out there an improved finish is needed. know that the organise is looking into it. a challenging course for someone who doesn't like hill but otherwise faultless.
In full: i'm not really competitive so the shambolic end didn't pose a problem for me. I just took my own time from my watch. For those competitive folks out there an improved finish is needed. I know that the organiser is looking into it. a challenging course for someone who doesn't like hill but otherwise faultless.

In short: Steady climb to 5k, then a shorter steeper climb near the finish. If you run a good time here, you've definitely earnt it!

In short: Hard work but enjoyable.
In full: Only my 2nd competetive 10K, and much more challenging than the flat course I did in Worthing ! Hill training definitely paid off as the incline between 7 & 8 K was hard work. Early morning dew made the mud and grass a bit slippy, and the ruts on the downhill stretches were a little hazardous. The 2 killer bits for me were seeing runners in front of me coming back up through the castle grounds after the 9K marker (just how long is this last K! ) and the uphill finishing line. Good organisation, lovely momento, generous local support, but wish the race map could have been clearer. I hope to be back next year !

In short: Seems like the first 5.5kms are uphill, then another uphill at 7kms just to keep you honest. All in all, it's a good test in a beautiful part of the country - good country pubs close by for post run sustinence!

In short: the hill between 7k and 8k was really cruel, as was the 20% incline to the finishing line
