In short: A good after Christmas shake up In full: First half downhill and second half up definitely makes this a different run in good country air. Race organisation seemed good. My only grouse is the poor directions, managing to get lost both coming and going and then having difficulty parking. Date of review: January 7, 2007
In short: Hilly, hard work, but strangely enjoyable! In full: Very chuffed I managed to get around my first 10k so well, evil hills though, not to mention evil wind and rain along by the pigs in the field! I wish the marshalls had done more encouraging, only one on the whole way around clapped and said "well done" which I thought was a bit mean :( Maybe because I was at the back of the fleet and their hands were worn out...just because we are slow doesn't mean we don't need encouragement.
I will probably do it next year though, if only to compare it to this. I reckon after a course like this, lots of other 10k's will seem like the proverbial walk in the park! Date of review: January 7, 2007
In short: Disapointed In full: The organisers did a good job, but I feel there is room for improvement. Getting lost on local roads being a newcomer to the area didnt put me in a good frame of mind. I also think at £12 on the day it was a tad expensive for the those just entering the sport and doesn't encourage you. I didnt find it that welcoming being a lone-runner. In short: Set your 5k PB here then hit the ups... In full: A challenging race to start with following the festive period but well organised and decent scenery. Did a definite PB for the first 3 miles and then paid for it with a PW for the last 3 and a bit. Full review will follow soon on the following running/drinking site:

In short: Undulating?....I'd say hilly! In full: 4k downhill at breakneck speeds then 6k slogging back uphill!! A great course, caught quite a few first timers to this race, out (including myself).Definately not a P.B course but the organisers had all the best intentions , well done everyone!!
