In short: Mud, glorious mud!
In full: I really love running tow paths, and mud is my friend, so I had a fantastic time today. I did feel a litle sorry for folks who turned up in shiny new trainers, since everyone's were a lovely mud-besplattered brown by the end. But 2:09 did an amazing job, especially since they had to change the route at the last minute. I think I prefer the new route, all things considered. Post-race milkshakes and snacky bars were a nice touch too.

In short: Mixture of commuterland and muddy towpath
In full: Тоp marks to 209 Events for finding an alternative route at short notice and keeping everyone informed in advance. The outward leg was through pretty dull suburbia but in the circumstances the organizers did a grand job. Excellently marshalled throughout. A nice low-key run and thoroughly enjoyable. I'll be back next year.

In full: Loved the puddles - really enjoyed plodding round. Looking forward to next year. Trail shoes for that one though.

In short: A low key but friendly event with a nice return stretch along the Basingstoke canal path..
In full: First time I've done this race with a nice stretch back along the Basingstoke canal path. The event seemed fairly low key but offered a friendly atmosphere as a result. Tidy organisation at the start amd finish and well marshalled at the two main road crossing points - no problems experienced here. Shame about the distance being reduced to 7.3 miles. Although relatively flat, I'm not sure this is a PB course due to the non- standard distance and the width of the tow path in parts. I would imagine the route would be far more scenic in the spring or summer months. A good race for beginners. Possibly a little pricey compared to other races of a similar distance but I would certainly recommend this event and will enter it again. Thanks to the marshalls who braved the weather!

In short: This year I particulary liked the puddles.
In full: As one of the back of the pack I had a great run. Very pretty run along the canal. Marshals were great. Organisation very smooth and still got smiles and goodies despite taking and hour and a half to finish. Thank you.

In short: Thouroughly enjoyed the experience, even with the mud..!
In full: I would rate this race, it was well organised and had a mix of abilities, it was nice to be challenged by club runners. Just glad the rain held off..! Definately up for next year.

In short: Fab way to kick my running year off!! Loved it, even the mud made me grin.
In full: I know some people will be unhappy with the route change and the puddles...mud...etc but I loved it!!
The change in route was well communicated and the organisation superb.

My wife loved the single sex toilets and we both were seriously impressed at being able to print off our times and race position straight after crossing the line!!

Big thanks to the organisers from two very happy runners :-)

See you next year.
