In short: Great views from the heights and a good quality t-shirt
In full: The uphills were tough, the undulations were teasing but I found the downhills to be the worst. The one after the long undulating section below The Roaches scuppered me. I'm right chuffed with my t-shirt:-)))

In short: Scenery is stunning !
In full: Great scenery, cruel to describe this race as 'undulating'. Great weather conditions, good cameraderie between runners. Alas no PB for me but will aim to do again next year now I know the course.

In short: A very well organised race with ample parking , changing and tiolets at the leisure centre close to the start . The race was hilly for the first eight miles but it was a gradual climb with a great view at the top .

In short: Great first half-marathon!!!
In full: Really enjoyed myself. Hills not as bad as I thought (used to off-road and fell running) but enjoyable enough to be challenging. Fantastic scenery and very well organised.

In short: Tough hills and climbs through the scenary of the Roaches make this a tough, but picturesque run
In full: Did this earlier on today, and its been a long time since I've done a proper measured competitive run of this distance. The course was challenging, with a considerable overall climb. However, the views over the roaches are great and there was a good atmosphere amongst the runners.

There was some support from crowds around the track, although I've seen bigger crowds.
Possibly not a good beginners race, because its HARD. Lots of climbing and endurance throughout. Having said that, I managed a PB and enjoyed the race.

Definitely be back next year. Worth it for the views alone.

In short: Tiring, but well organised
In full: Very good idea giving out t-shirt at the start, as it avoids runners having to stand in a long queue after completion. Which is a big benefit as its important for runners to avoid lactic acid creation by keep moving after finishing, not standing still queuing for t-shirts etc with lactic acid forming in the muscles, which was a real problem at Stoke this year.

However, hard race, really goosed at the end.

In short: Scenery fantastic, hills challenging (particularly the downhill sections). Great race.
In full: Second time I have run this race. The 3 year gap had dulled my memory of the hills. To be honest I found the steep downhill sections from 7 miles onwards took far more out of my legs than the uphills. Not a brilliant time but really enjoyed the race. Will definitely come back again.
