In short: feel good very busy charity race
In full: I agree that having pens for those that want to 'race' is a good idea - with this number of people something else is needed. That said its a charity race and there will always be walkers and joggers that participate. I am pregnant so it was a jog for me this year. I did try and look behind before stopping for a crafty walk or two. I wouldn't have missed it - there is something inspiring about so many people running together. i'll hopefully be back next year.

In short: Really enjoyable race because its supporting such a special cause. Friendly atmosphere but very busy. Not the race to run a pb.

In short: Great atmosphere, support and great cause.
In full: I really enjoyed this race; was not able to stretch my legs really as the race was really crowded (mixed abilities)but that was over-ridden by the value of the run being a great tribute to Jane. Will definitely want to do this again. Perhaps a walkers/joggers lane????

In short: Very busy - but bearable for such a good cause!
In full: The beginning, as mentioned already, could have done with being slightly better organised so that those who wanted to walk could do so without getting ankles trodden on (and so they should be allowed to), but those who wanted to jog could do so without having to dodge so much.
The KM markers were there, but high up on flags, and seeing as there was a breeze the flags were blowing into the posts, so couldn't see them clearly even if you did look up!
Gatorade served in cups at 6km - spilled all over floor making it very slippy - witnessed a few falls!
My biggest request would be that despite it being a charity event, people need to be more honest and realistic about their expected abilities when registering re timing, and should look behind them before changing direction, starting and stopping!! I would rate it on a par with Abbey Dash - that road's a long drag out when everyone else is on the way back at speed!
All the best to the Tomlinson family and future fundraising though - an amazing cause!

In short: Far too expensive to have no timings and a naf goody bag
In full: £26 is a rip off really compare to other local races. I would at least expect the clock to be working and the times to be on the internet quickly. (still not there now 8 hours after i finished!)

In short: The atmosphere makes up for the lack of scenery.
In full: I's a lovely race for the atmosphere. The things that puzzle me are why the Gatorade is in cups at the halfway point and why the drinks, chocs and t-shirts aren't in the bags already when you pick them up. Apart from that small gripe everything else for me went like clockwork. Good support and the band is a nice touch.

In short: Wonderful to be part of the event but could have been so much better
In full: I hate to moan too as it was great to see so many first runners doing something they may never do again but it was dangerous at the start. I saw people falling over crubs and each other. People suddenly stopping to walk without looking behind them and everyone weaving in and out of each other to get a clear run. Shame when we were penned at the start that they couldn't have put the green runners at the front. Everyone had a CHIP so would get their offical time. I would hate to organise a race but feedback is meant to help for next year, however one of my running friends fedback the hassels of the start last year and sadly it wasn't changed.

What happened to signs for water station and KM's. I saw one sign for a water station after I'd gone through it.

The crowds were great, the marshalls friendly and moved the barrier at the town hall when they realised the road was too narrow for the quantity of runners coming through.

I felt for the wheel chair riders too. Could the marshalls help them out at the top of hills to get people to make a clear path so they go down the hill safely at spead. People were great at moving when I shouted this request out for one rider on 2 hills.

Otherwise a good run in a great city

In short: Great day but could be better organised
In full: I felt I could have run faster because I kept getting stuck behind walkers! was a bit congested on Meanwood Road where the runners are on both sides of the road(single carriageway!) Could possibly change route slightly for future races. Why not go out to Leeds United Football ground instead? Other than that I thoroughly enjoyed it for a first timer in this event.

In short: Great charity run with runners of all abilities
In full: This was a decent race with people of all abilities. Because of the cause people will tur up year after year. However, this has the potential to be a fantastic race, but there are niggly things that are only small that could be done soooo much better which would really complete the race.

There should be pens at the start, runners didnt know where they should be and this probably multiplied the problems of walkers etc at the start.

The crowd - great numbers turned up, but for a "fantastic atmosphere" race most were just stood at the side, no applause etc. COME ON PEOPLE, show some support to the runners. I know groups were fantastic giving support (Special mention to Macmillan supporter people, as they were great)

Not a bad run in summary, but as others have pointed out. If the minor things could be sorted out then it would make the day even better. This is not intended as a dig at the organisers as they do put on a decent event and its a great thing they are doing.
