In short: Organisation and weather was perfect. + Guaranteed to start on time. In full: The best ½ Marathon I have run. The organisation and weather combined to make this event perfect and the Medal was good. I found the river crossings refreshed my tired muscles and I got a good time. I’ll certainly be back next year. This event has the potential to be massive. I’m surprised the media do not give it more coverage. Date of review: July 27, 2011
In short: A really special run, amazing views to the Lakes one way, and sand as far as you can see the other way!! The line of runners was quite a sight across the sand. Good organisation and a really nice medal! In full: C Date of review: July 26, 2011

In short: Wow - Believe the hype! Brilliant Race! In full: 1st time doing it, the vastness of the sand in the middle of the bay is breathtaking, take time to look around while doing this race. Great organisation and happy atmosphere all round!! Crossing the rivers was tough but strangely enjoyable on a hot day! See ya next year! Date of review: July 26, 2011
In short: one of a kind!! In full: i started running when i first got to the uk, done the gnr twice and some other fell races, but after reading the reviews from last year i knew i had to do this race. amazing run, it's a unique feeling entering the bay and feeling its vastness!! luckly the sand was hard and running was not as thought as i first thought. very friendly staff and organisers. In short: Enjoyed every minute - except when it started hurting! In full: Fantastic race - I can't think of any way in which it could be improved. Even the river crossing was lovely; it refreshed me and gave me chance to catch my breath. A very special race - reminds of the old Peak Marathon (though that was much, much harder!). In short: Sandy and wet but great fun! In full: As a slow runner i'm always worried entering new races but the friendly atmosphere and general attitude from everyone that it was great just to get round meant i needn't have worried here.
Good organisation from start to finish and the route was well marked considering the surroundings!
The fun of bounding through water, and wading through water, meant the miles seemed to fly by even at my pace. The good weather also meant the sea water was quite refreshing and nice.
Enjoyed everything about the day, got round a little quicker than expected and would love to come back again, and hopefully rope some fellow runners from the north east along too.
Thank you to all involved! Date of review: July 26, 2011
In short: Lots of fun In full: Living in the village where the race ends means this was my home event and it did not disappoint in any way. Cheerful camaraderie amongst the competitors and glorious views coupled with first class organisation resulted in a great race. Big thanks to all the people out on the sands who ensured our safety.
