In short: A short, hard and happy race In full: Pros: great atmosphere, wonderful views (even in horrible weather) and it really does feel like the toughest 10k in the country. Also a good selection of goodies and a nice medal help justify the price.
Cons: Very disappointed to only do 6km but I assume the weather caused that, and to be fair it was good to have a race at all. Date of review: January 1, 2014
In short: Great event, horrible weather In full: Thank you Dr Rob and the marshals for proceeding with the race in such terrible conditions. Special thanks to the gentleman from St John's Ambulance who kindly patched up my hand injury so I could finish the course, and again at the end of the race prior to heading off to A&E! Love Trionium races, and looking forward to Leith hill already! Date of review: January 1, 2014
In short: Congrats to Dr Rob once again In full: Despite the hideous conditions he managed to put on an event that will go down in history, be told in legend and is easily a candidate for race of the year. I've never laughed so much in an event ever. It was a fabulous start to the year and already I can't wait to do it again.
An extra special mention must go to the marshals who were absolutely fabulous in extremely testing conditions. Each and ever one of you was amazing. Huge thanks go to you all Date of review: January 1, 2014
In short: As hard as it gets In full: The weather made it a greater test of endurance than most years. The atmosphere and marshals make it one of the best. Thanks to the marshals and the lady with hot soup. See you next year Date of review: January 1, 2014
In short: splish splosh, muddy VERY WET N WINDY , sip slidey bits... brilliant fun In full: the knackered Hatter enjoyed the whole thing, the more we slipped and sploshed the more we giggled... weather made it interesting and brutal all at the same time. Date of review: January 1, 2014
In short: fantastic. Despite the conditions. In full: Amazing that Rob managed to keep it all going in such challenging rain & wind. Thanks to him/his family for the soup & sarnies/all those marshals who must have been even colder than the runners. Somehow I wasn't bothered about the new short course - I kept expecting Rob to add another bonus hill.... Date of review: January 1, 2014
In short: Evening up the score In full: Driving home, well more aquaplaning, I thought hmmmm two years ago I did the Olympic Version, today I did the well hmmm the Commonwealth Version and so I reckon overall somewhere in between than makes the full "usual" 10km. As ever a wonderful venue, superb organisation and a huge thank you to the marshalls and especially loved the snowman! Dr Rob as ever you are a fiend but thank you for a fun filled start to 2014. Happy New Year to all my fellow runners, the marshalls and to Dr Rob and his family. Date of review: January 1, 2014
