In short: Hot!
In full: Excellent atmosphere, great support, superb route through the countryside. Organisers took good steps to help deal with the heat, and the chap with the hose at 11.5 was sent from heaven!!! Will definitely be back. Thanks to all those involved in organising ans helping on the dy.

In short: Too hot
In full: Enjoyed the setting at water park and the slight undulations. Has big PB potential if weather was not so warm. Needed more water stations and maybe second sponge one but thanks to hoseman near end. Good prizes on offer. Won 6th male and team prize.

In short: Great race but I was beaten by the heat!
In full: Great atmosphere - the Kids Kaper was great (I think my son now has the running bug). It was a beautiful course, undulating rather than hilly but I'd like to come back when its not so hot. The spectators, marshalls and other runners really helped to get me round. A big thanks to the guy from Sutton Colefield who helped me at around 9 miles, the guy with the hosepipe and the guy on the bike with the water bottles. Love the T-shirt too.

In short: Wow what a scorcher!!!
In full: Hottest Half I've ever done and in an all time PW time but by the first water station we'd already decided (2 friends and I) just to take it easy so we could finish, stopping for a chat and a laugh with the water station marshalls (a number of runners didn't even make it to mile 1 and we passed quite a few poor souls requiring medical treatment).

Support was terrific - from both locals and marshalls. Plenty of water which we were actively encouraged to take and the guy with the hose was a real life-saver, thank you so much! Wonderful young lad offered us jelly babies too and the all the good will (and sympathy!) from supporters was what really kept us going.
Special race t-shirt with all our names on the back was an excellent touch I thought.

We'll definitely be back next year to do this one. Spectacular scenery and so well organised. Besides - what are the odds that we could have such a scorching day for the race next year ...?!

In short: Feeling hot hot hot!!
In full: Blimey what a scorcher and my congrats to the organisation which was spot on - the weather could've caught them out but despite the intense heat there was plenty of water at every station and each one was very well manned.
First time at this race and although I got a PW cos of the heat I'll definitely be back. Nice scenic course which wasn't as hilly as I had imagined but any chance of a PB was hampered by the heat - have never seen so many runners walking so early on and throughout a race and I include meself in that! In the end it was just about finishing in one piece although I did have a wierd moment once I'd crossed the line so my very great thanx go to the gentleman who caught me and the help I received in the tent - never happened to me before! As others have said, I really hope that those that suffered during the race have now fully recovered. Everyone of us deserves a medal and the comrardarie (is that spelt right!!) was brilliant!
Liked the t-shirt with all the runners name on the back.
The marshalls and the cyclists were fantastic - they showed real concern and were advising everyone to take it steady and willingly giving every runner 2 or 3 cups of water. Hosepipe Man - thank you & can you come out for every hot race!
As always, thanx to the marshalls, supporters and everyone involved in the organisation.

In short: burn, baby, burn!
In full: Verrrry slow one for me, but happened to us all i think, in those sauna-like conditions! The lovely countryside would have been a pleasure to run through in cooler climes. Did seem like lots of steadily rising hills without a lot of down. Good marshalls, good crowd support and good T-shirts with everyone's names on- i liked that. Defo think there could've been an extra (earlier) water station. Have to add thanks to the hose man and also to the cyclist standing just before him with extra water...greatly appreciated. Can see why so many folk dropped out, felt verrrry groggy myself for quite a while after. hope all are well now. anyhoo, lovely course and would do it again on a cooler day!

In short: Hot
In full: I have never seen so many people drop out of a race - I hope everyone is OK. I ran at marathon pace from about 3 miles onwards - I nearly dropped out at around 4 miles but kept going and stopped at each station for a heart swig or two. The course is fairly pretty and mainyl traffic free. Undulating more than hilly, with more dwon hill in the last 3 miles. The car park was well organised but some selfish so and so parked in the gap that was left by the officials and blocked everyone in - luckily someone was in the car behind mine and I managed to escape.

The bloke with a hosepipe at 11.5 miles did a great job as did all the marshals and those on the drinks stations, which thankfully were quite well stocked. However, I do think that an extra station could have been put in somewhere, the first one brought forward to somewhere between 2-3 miles - it was a long way the first stop. While I imagine that it is normally about 10 degrees cooler the heat was forecast.

However, the heat ultimately was not the club's fault, and I would do this race again.

In short: Turn me over I'm done!
In full: First time at this event and thought it was excellent. The intense heat threw any chance of a PB out of the window leaving me averaging 9.5 minute miles. My 5 year old daughter finished the Kids Kaper (a 1 mile race round the lake) triumphant in 9.5 minutes – Well done Sophie! Like everyone else I do hope the casualties are now well recovered and well done to those of you who stopped and helped them.
