In short: Another one which I hope becomes a regular event. In full: Another excellent event from Steve Goulding and grass roots events. I hope this becomes a regular fixture on the running calendar, not least because it's on my doorstep!
Flat-ish course, however not easy to get a PB given the conditions but nothing the organisers can do about that.
Nice medal at the end, good value for money but I would say that because I got a spot prize!
Nice atmosphere, results available almost immediately and a friendly awards ceremony which included a raffle.
Great way to spend a wet and windy Sunday morning! Date of review: November 24, 2008
In short: Excellent event. Nice route and well organised. In full: I really enjoyed this race. The organisers, marshalls and racers in the event were all brilliant and made the experience a great morning. I recommend this event to anyone who wants to run a relatively flat, mildly challenging 10K, along a nice route in a friendly atmosphere. Will look to come back next year. In short: A gentle breeze today In full: Not bad for the first running of this race. Echo others comments about clock at the end, but not that much of an issue. Good potential for a PB, the only issue today was the weather and we can't control that. Nice to have a medal at the end. See you in 2009.
In short: Great value, well attended rural gallop In full: Despite the cold and rain this was a thoroughly enjoyable race! The course is mostly flat and on roads with a short section on dirt track, so there was great potential for a fast time.
Excellent attendance in spite of the weather and a good, friendly atmosphere with the added bonus of jaffa cakes and jelly babies at the end of the race! Also a very nice medal to add to the collection.
My only gripes would be the lack of a clock on the finish line and the rather misleading event name (it was some distance away from Swindon), but otherwise a really superb event - great organisation, good attendance and a suitably fast course for late November conditions! In short: Very well organised, flat and fast - what more could you want? In full: Thought this was excellently organised. A clock at the end would have been nice, but I didn't mind. Might be good to ask people to line up roughly in order of expected pace as there was lots of dodging to do down narrow roads for the first km or so. But, the organisation was very smooth, the marshalls were friendly and the jaffa cakes/jelly babies at the end a really nice touch. And I got a PB. Excellent morning. In short: good fast race, well organised very user friendly In full: ok so the weather could have been alot better but that is out of the organisers hands. Well signposted, good parking facilities close to the start, good supportive marshalling, good route Date of review: November 23, 2008
In short: Low cost budget event but great vfm. Beautiful race In full: Did not expect much given the cost snd instructions but well organised event, well marshalled by cheery supporters. Manual timing more than acceptable. Race title hides the fact that this is run in glorious fast flat countryside. Two laps, bit sticky and potholed in one part but otherwise good news all round. Decent medal, enough water and jaffa cakes/ jelly babies at the finish too. Okay, it was basic, but cheap and will get more support as word gets out how good this inaugural event turned out to be. In short: Would have been good if there was a clock at the beginning and/ord end. It was particularly annoying at the end not to have a clock as had to wait for about 15 secs for them to register me with pencil. Didnt fill me with confidence on accuracy Date of review: November 23, 2008
