In short: Enjoyable race let down slightly by shoddy organisation.
In full: Good fast course with some slight undulations. Organisation could have been better. They decided to make several 1000 people squeeze through a narrow opening into quite a small baggage tent. No suitable area for gathering out of the rain pre race either. The start was a mass of confusion with people squeezed into a very narrow start and slow runners entering the start from the front. The markers for estimated time were way off with 1:10 way back. I asked one of the organisers where the front was and he told me "back there", well after going in the direction he pointed I discovered it was exactly where he was standing!

Once the race was underway though all was forgotten and I had a great run and a big PB.

No "goody" bag just a useless metal round thing. I suppose some people must like these "medals" but I would have preferred a recovery drink or something myself!

In short: Great Marshals and support, lousy baggage organisation
In full: Arrived quite early but the queue for baggage was immense, by the time I dropped off my bag I had no time to warm up after the freezing wait. I spotted the race director just before the 10am start and informed him that there were still a massive queue for baggage but he said the race starts at 10 no matter what. Marshaling was great in the bad conditions, was very disappointed with lack of goody bag, after running a pb I needed something sugary but just got a cup of water, getting my bag back was hazzardous in the mudbath next to the kit tent.

In short: Nice course, good PB potential, loads of marshalls, baggage drop an issue
In full: Nice course with loads of marshalls and plenty of water stations

Only goodies at the end was a (nice) medal

Pre joining info and web site good

Good PB potential - ran 1h 29 beeting my last PB by 5 mins - slight inclines towards then end but nothing too taxing

Long queues for toilets and baggage drop - most probably caught out by higher numbers and heavy rain pre race - also very muddy

In short: Ran for the 3rd year and achieved a course PB by 5 minutes. Therefore, pretty pleased.
In full: Having read some of the previous comments regarding the baggage problems I can only add, my observations were that the organisation was as good as ever with lots of attendants to help with the storage of bags. However, if people were leaving it to the last minute to hand in bags due to the incliment conditions and possible late arrivals, this is certainly not the fault of the organisers. Thanks once again for a good race around a generally flat and fast course. Will definately be back next year.

In short: Poor weather early on but a lovely PB!
In full: A really good run. My only complaint was the disorganised kit drop. This resulted in the race starting while we were still dropping kit off! Really well marshalled, pleasant atmosphere and a lovely PB! Already in next years diary!

In short: good Course
In full: good course and good marshalling along the route but where the baggage tent was afterwards is was everso MUDDY and very Dangerous where someone could easily slip over and break something and think that the tenntage could be relocated elsewhere within the runners village apart from that no problems at all

In short: Great race , with good marshalling in bad weather
In full: I started from the back intentionally and once we got going it was a super village course with easy over taking. It was fantastic to run on clear roads in this low key event. The finish line was a bit chaotic.

In short: decent race, good for pb hunters
In full: fairly flat pb course, decent start finish area, great looking medal, supportive marshalls, though other half marathons in the area are much better value! will do it next year though!

In short: Great course but a few issues cuased by weather & high numbers
In full: This is a favourite race of mine but this year I think it suffered due to much higher numbers than last(when postponed to May)and lots of people leaving things to the last minute due to the pre race weather. The latter is outside the control of the orgnaisers but maybe next year they could task the marshals with trying to organise the start better. That said, out on the course the marshals, drinks helpers and supporters were brilliant and much appreciated.
