In short: If you want a flat 10k, then this is it. In full: Start was a little tricky and bunched - I think more effort should be made to stagger the start. This must be one of the flattest races out there - total ascent cannot have been more than 10m, so a good test of true pace. Race numbers with your name on was a nice touch and the marshalls were highly encouraging. Will certainly be returning next year. Date of review: November 9, 2009

In short: Fun run In full: Late for registration and start, so just had a good relaxing, run with my dog, (who always enjoys the attention). Great atmosphere and thought the walkers/public were very understanding when getting out of the way! Date of review: October 22, 2009

In short: Nice scenery, nice weather, shame about the puddles! In full: This was my first event for over a year, and I was very impressed. Putting names on race numbers was a nice touch. The course was a little congested in places, but looking at the route, I didn't expect anything else. A lovely autumnal event to blow the cobwebs away. Date of review: October 19, 2009

In short: Great scenery, shame about the early congestion... In full: Efficient staff at the start, very scenic course, beautiful day for running and clearly labelled distance markers unlike my previous event. As mentioned elsewhere the start needs to be looked at, as it wasn't really until 10 mins or so into the race that I finally felt able to go my own pace. Passing places were at a premium in the opening stretch and with some runners sticking together in groups it was really hard to find your own space. As it was I missed my PB by 15 seconds when I probably lost about 2 minutes due to the bunching. Maybe next time we could head south down the river first, so that the field was more strung out before the need to turn? Still, I enjoyed the run and will be back next time. In short: A very pleasant way to spend a Saturday morning In full: Overall well organised. A larger field than I think was expected. The start was a little crowded and the section where runners were going opposite each other after the first turn was a bit of a squeeze at times. After this point though the course was excellent. Very flat, superb scenery and a great way to start the weekend. Nice early start as well. Very enjoyable. Thank you. Date of review: October 18, 2009

In short: Great location, well organised but need to do something about the start i In full: 4 ran in the group I was with times ranging from 41 to 59 mins and the concencus was that this was a race we would do again. There are some steps that could be taken to improve for next time. For the size of the field, the start just didn't work as was narrow with many slower runners in front. The turn at 1.5km made meant the path was halved - that together with the wet and uneven footing made a PB difficult. Hopefully organisers can work on this for next time as this could be 'must do' race if they did Date of review: October 17, 2009
