In short: Hard, hard, hard. Great event. In full: Again Dr Rob has put together a great event. Great support around the course with plenty of marshals and water stations. Despite the slippery conditions and shoes full of water twice at the stepping stones, this appeared to add to the occasion. Again the bagpipes were heard at two locations on the course, adding to the atmosphere. I was wondering how he gets to the second location so fast! Has he a twin? Well done Rob and all the marshals/helpers. Date of review: June 18, 2011

In short: Unbelievably tough and lots of fun. Every runner should do this once in their life. In full: Just as hard as last year but it's possible to get used to it. I shaved only a minute off the time but felt more ready and less of a drooling wreck at the end :-). The fitness of the front runners made you think they were from another planet. Will be back next year. Date of review: July 26, 2010

In short: Tough as nails! In full: Absolutely loved the race. Although I finished near the back - that's where I normally finish and the support for us stragglers at the back-end of the field was amazing. Great challenge! Certainly would consider scrapping all other plans and making next year's Picnic the main goal. All Trionium races are so well organised and hats off have to go to Dr Rob! In short: Argh! My Legs! In full: Horrible steps, wonderful views, friendly crowd and excellent marshalls. Four days later and I can walk again. I'll be back next year, I've already booked for The Picnic. A proper picnic at the end, smoked salmon sandwiches and everything, and the pub is on the way to the station. What a wonderful way to spend a summer afternoon. Thanks Dr Rob, I'll definitely be back. Date of review: June 23, 2010

In short: Eccentric, picturesque, suicidally hard In full: My friends had been talking about this one for ages and the promise of the excellent sandwich buffet at the end got me hooked.
Knowing it was incredibly hard I trained by running up and down council estate tower blocks and got up to 200 flights of stairs per run. This however was nothing compared to the Midsummer Munro and I hit the wall after about a mile!
My calves are still aching yet for some reason I want to do it again.
Such a friendly run too - the marshalls and fellow runners gave it a great atmosphere that made it all the more special. Date of review: June 23, 2010

In short: Fantastic challenge In full: This is a very tough challenge. The organisation was superb the marshals were excellent and gave lots of encouragement. Loved the piper really motivational. Quality medal, tee shirt and hat at the end.
