In short: bloody hard work and great to finish
In full: my first time doing this Sussex legend run. glorious environment on the South Downs but it's no stroll in the park - those hills hurt whether going down or up. good training run for Beachy Head mara.

In short: Very tough but well worth the pain!
In full: This is by far the toughest race I've taken part in but I was smiling most of the way round! The scenery is fantastic and the crazy uphill sections at North Face and the Big W are soon compensated for by lovely stretches running over the tops of the downs on the lovely grass - Bliss!

Great marshalls out on the course keeping the spirits up when needed. We did get a bit lost at one point but the race advice does say check the course before starting so no complaints from me...and we were soon back on track again.

In short: Great scenery and challenging but not well enough marshalled
In full: Fantastic to have finished - except that a lot of people got lost. Seemed that field spread out quickly, at least one marker was moved and marshalls few and far between in 2nd half, meant that if you didn't know that way pretty good chance of getting lost. No toilets, no one could find me a map at the start, and I got lost and only ran 18miles (and I know I wasn't the only one). Overall a bit disappointing!!

In short: Tough but rewarding
In full: The race is something of a local legend, and it feels great to have completed it. The runners spread out pretty quickly, and there were times when I couldn't see anyone in front or behind me, but the course was very well marshalled. The hills are hard work, but the last five miles are all pretty much downhill or flat. We were lucky with the wind which blew us all the way back to the marina.

In short: Great Warm up for Beachy Head Marathon in 2 weeks time
In full: I really enjoy this race with the views, low key event and charm of the named hills and parts of the race.

The first three water stations were after 30 mins intervals but the fourth not was 60 mins. On a warm day an extra dink stop was needed. Also the mark at the base of the 'Snake' was removed confusing first timers. Sought this and the Jog Shop 20 will tick all the boxes.

In short: A unique event has to be tried to be appreciated
In full: Another successful year and a 22 minute PB for me. The weather was just right, friendly marshalls and water stations and on bikes.

This is my 4th time and I still treat it with the respect it deserves.

In short: One of my very favourite races, enjoyed every minute. Beautiful scenery takes your mind off the hills, and plenty of water stations manned by friendly marshalls. Look forward to next year!!

In short: What weather!
In full: Splendid conditions, even the North Face and the Big W seem benign on a day like today.
Nearly got lost at one point, but some who knew the (new) route set me right.

In short: Very hard but the scenery is so great you don't notice!
In full: This is my first Jog Shop 20 and the weather was fantastic. Sunny but cool with good visibility. The scenery is stunning and you have two great contrasts: the start and finish at up-market Brighton Marina and the bulk of the race in, what feels like, the middle of nowhere, with views that go for miles. Couldn't find any mile markers but that was fine by me. There were several drinks stations providing water, energy drinks and gels and the marshalls were encouraging and friendly. You can even stagger over the line and crawl into MacDonalds for some post-race refueling! The atmosphere was nice and relaxed and, although knackered, I enjoyed it.

In short: The hills were blotted out by the glorious scenery and perfect weather!
In full: What a fantastic day! I enjoy this event more every year, but you need to treat the course with respect in view of the toughness.

Ideal warm-up to BHM in 2weeks. "The North Face" and "Big W" are immence and should still be feared.

The South Downs is such a wonderful area, and you feel honoured to be allowed to run in such a special place. The rolling hills, windmills, coastal views, roaming cattle (and the odd bull) and sheep, and welcoming marshals cheered me and made me wonder whats there to worry about,.

As soon as next year's event is annouced, my entry will be in the post!

Thanks again to the organisers/helpers/marshals/supports!
