In short: Excellent race, well organised and a great atmosphere
In full: I loved this race. Yes it was a bit crowded in places but that didn't bother me. The crowds and the support was excellent and created a fantastic atmosphere. The food festival was a welcome extra to browse around after and the weather was perfect. Came with the family and made a day of it doing some sightseeing atfer. Lovely day, great race.

In short: Excellent race with great sights of London. Huge PB potential. Great crowd / marshall support
In full: Although expensive to enter I feel it's worth it. Great tech T-shirt and lovely wooden leaf medal. Loads of additional freebies but shame you have to hobble around collecting them. Never knew Hyde Park was so big. Loads of crowd support and plenty of refreshments on course - loved the sweets from M&S. Will try to enter again for next year.

In short: Great race for most runners and all spectators
In full: With 12,500 runners, there's always going to be some measure of congestion (toilets at the start, on some of the narrower parts of the course) but any complaints beyond that are in my opinion, overly critical.

Quick course, plenty of water, Lucozade, sweets on the course, all manner of freebies at the end and running through some of London's best scenery (and I live in London) justify the expensive entry. Yes, much of it is in Hyde Park but it means spectators can easily spot you on a few occasions.

Overall, with a dearth of half marathons in London, I'm grateful that the Royal Parks is as good as it is.

In full: Enjoyed it again this year. Hated the double backs in Hyde park but over all good race. Some areas needed a little something but overall good enough to want me to go back.

In short: Dont get what the fuss is about
In full: How can people say there was enough room clearly they saw the £ signs and rammed in as many as possible, it is far far to congested for my liking which makes this more of a fun run than anything else. I gave up trying to chase a time and was still overtaking people with 11 miles gone !. The winding in the park is very tedious and far to narrow I spent more time on the grass than the path so might aswell done a cross country.

In short: Loved the race. A truly great experience!
In full: Organisation is the best there is. You cannot fault it. The start was fab and it was despite the amount of runners, there was enough space for everyone. The sun shone too, which always helps. Would certainly make the effort to enter again in 2011.

In short: Awesome race! Brilliant organisation and atmosphere
In full: This is my absolute favourite race - superb organisation, brilliant course, friendly marshals, great goody bag, and loads of freebies! The entry fee may be a bit steep but you get good value for every penny. I'm already looking forward to next year's race!

In short: Can't really fault this
In full: My third year running the Royal Parks and I can't fault it. Once again the crowds were out, the marshalls were encouraging and helpful, the organisation before, during and after was great, the scenery was excellent and I got a PB.
It's getting increasingly difficult to enter this race and you can see why. I'll be trying to get a place next year and would recommend this to anyone.

In short: Ticks many of the boxes but overall a bit so what
In full: The Royal Parks is a notoriously expensive half marathon, which is presumably down to the costs involved of closing down a chunk of central London. Having shelled out nearly £50 most entrants will be making this their A race for the autumn, but bearing that in mind it doesn't have much buzz about it. It's hard to find real faults with any of the organisation but for me the whole event is a little flat. Running a race in central London inevitably means losing out on local support and this does impact on the atmosphere for an event that's try to sell itself as a "big deal". Probably a nice day out for out-of-towners looking for a first marathon but certainly not worth attempting to get a place for a second time.
