In short: Excellent well organised race
In full: Been coming to Mablethorpe on family holidays for years so I thought I'd enter the half. Absolutely brilliant day - superb organisation, friendly encouraging marshalls, bottled water at drinks stations, tech t-shirt at finish. Loads of people out supporting runners all round the course but especially on last mile on seafront. Loved it - definately back next year (maybe for the full). If you're looking for your first half or full marathon, I would recommend this.

In short: Well worth attending, very hot day, not normal for time of year, the marshals were good but at mile 8 we really did get good support from a group of very enthusiastic people who really did give us a good cheer, this was very welcome on the second lap
In full: A good day even though the day was very hot, around 28c, one or two issues of cars going to quick on some of the back roads, i think the marshals could have slowed them down, support was good especially around mile 8 for the half and 21 for the marathon, a group of very enthusiastic supporters cheered us on, this was especially welcome if you were on the marathon as the heat was getting to us by then, a big thankyou to those people, just hope they are there next year with as much energy, just need a few more of these people on the back lanes as support was lacking until we got back into the town of Sutton then back to Mablethorpe to the finish. Well done to all involved.

In short: Glad to see the Mablethorpe Marathon Has returned!!
In full: Was very glad to see the return of the Mablethorpe Marathon. I last took part in 2008 and found it to be great. This race was no different. I found the organisation to be as slick as previous and the Marshallers were all super friendly as always. The highlight for me was 'smashing' my PB and coming in under the four hour mark!!! This year I will aim to bring it down again. Well done to all involved and here's looking forward to 2011!!

In short: Well organised with some very nice touches
In full: Despite the weather another very well organised and marshalled event. Drink stations every 2 or 3 miles with 500ml bottled water with a couple having Gatorade in 500ml bottles too. The course was a little undulating in the middle section but nothing serious. Nice medal and t-shirt at the finish. Chip timing - chip time sent via SMS a little later. Has the potential to rub shoulders with the more popular, established events and still hold its own.

In short: Good Route, nice tshirt and medal, relaxed atmosphere
In full: Apart from a need for improvement at the water stations for the full marathon, i have no complaints - got a pb here. So happily do it again and again and stay in Mablethorpe for a little longer.

In short: Magnificent Mars Munching Mablethorpe
In full: The only reason I run is so I can eat more chocolate, so to find a mars bar in the goody bag after 26 miles was the icing on the cake (chocolate of course).
The organisation was first rate with lots of marshals giving great support. Nice finish with foil jacketty thing and nice medal and t-shirt.
Like others I found the mile markers about 1/4 mile out - especially from about mile 9, but had a sneaky suspicion that it would be clawed back in the last mile or so. Mentioned this to another runner who insisted the markers were correct - I just guess we were using different satellites.
Ran a PB so was delighted and will definitely be back next year with a few more miles under the belt.

In short: organisation excellent, wind and rain horrible
In full: Second time I have done this marathon and the second time I have got a PB. So the course is fast but somehow does not feel so. Perhaps because it undulates (730 m up and down) or perhaps because there are so many long straightish sections and I'm sure that the wind plays a part. Last time it was hot and windy and I remmber there being quite a few spectators this year it was wet and windy and hardly anyone was watching. The marshalls and guys at the drinks stations were special.Although the weather was foul they were all cheerful and encouraging and they had a kind word when you needed one.
I really don't like the end. To have to run past the turn in for the half marathon feels so tough.
However once over the line a foil was offered and put on me and a drink put in my hand. Getting the medal felt special as it was "presented" and a handshake and congratulations were offered. Nice t shirt (good to see that each race had a different colour) and a drink, mars bar and fruit.
Only gripe. Why was there no hot water available in the showers!
