In short: My home half, through parts of my history... But loo roll???
In full: Much better organised than in other years, I actually got a t-shirt this year (yes, I know i moan but back of the pack runners deserve as much as those whipping through quickly)... Which nicely brings me to the goody bag, 2 wet wipes and a loo roll... Seriously, that was it... Seems others got more/better...

But as I said up front its my local half, its not cheap but the route isn't too bad (though its not flat!), and the people are friendly.

In short: A great race!
In full: This is the second time I've done this race and I absolutely love it.
On the way to the race there were major roadworks and a massive hold up. Cars were dashing all over the place to try and get to the start on time. This wouldn't happen at other major races. There were people that didn't even make the start and just joined in as the race approached them not far from the start and there were lots of people still queuing for the loo's when the race started. The starting area is not big enough for the number of people in the race. The gentleman with the 3rd fastest chip time (1:10) actually finished roughly 2000th and with a time of 1:51 meaning it took him 41 minutes to cross the start line!
However once you get going this is a great race! I love the course. The medal and tshirt are great as is the optional massage and bananas!

In short: a few problems -but i do like this race
In full: needed more helpers on the water stations guys,we were cueing for water at all 4 !! and to be honest another water station itself. goody bag was poor- the first 1 i was given was empty, and ran out of medium sized t shirts .a technical t shirt would of been nice - but it was just a cheap cotton 1. having moaned about all that the route is 1 of my favourites and i do love this race because i love the route.

In short: Pacing service was brilliant
In full: I would like to thank the 2:24 pacer. I missed her at the start because I was too far back. When I caught up several miles later I pretty much stayed with her for the rest of the race. She got me to the end despite a recent injury affecting my preperation- legs were totally gone by the end. Because of her I got a PB improvement of 1 min 21 secs. A briliant job. Wish all races had this service. My only race regret today is I didn't thank her personally as wecrossed the line together. Chris Hobson

In short: Excellent organistion. Very few spectators though!!
In full: This is my first Liverpool half and I loved it. My only gripe was the absence of spectators and cheering. The marshals very cheerful and encouraging. Could not fault the organisation. My last half was great north run, with shed loads of people all along. Definitely will come back

In short: I was able to find my own pace and only on three occasions did I have to dodge around anyone. I'd have preferred to have been staggered, though, as thousanda overtook me in the first couple of hundred yards ;). More portaloos needed for next year.

In short: Good race but found the atmosphere a bit flat
In full: My second half marathon and my first in Liverpool. The weather was perfect and I couldn't fault the organisation other than minor things-the course was a bit narrow at points (Otterspool park especially) and picking up drinks and tshirts etc at the end was very slow-maybe if they were all in one bag it would have been quicker?. Perhaps I expected too much but I thought this was going to be a really fun run but I found the atmosphere a bit flat. Felt bit weird running past people in Sefton park who just stood there staring. Maybe it was the clocks changing had every one a bit bleary eyed! Regarding PB potential, I smashed my last time by ten minutes so absolutely delighted with that! Overall a decent race with potential to be great.

In short: Really good half marathon, growing year by year
In full: I like this run,the weather this year was spot on, and no wind on the front this year, so everyone will have enjoyed it more than last year!
