In short: Great run - hard work despite being so flat. In full: Done this a few times before and always find it hard considering it is virtually flat. Always enjoy the setting (do the sprint tri here too) and wished I'd remembered my swim gear as was really warm for a cloudy day. Will definately be back! Parking very busy but well organised. In short: Nice course, too many runners at tiny start, white t-shirt!!! Aghhhh In full: Start is far too small for 1100 runners, 500 would be more like it. Course is good, small roads. Finish area is simple but ok. Horrible white t-shirts! YUCK so sick of them, bring back the mugs. Well worth running for the running. Date of review: June 6, 2010
In short: Well organised In full: My only negative comment is that the T shirt could have been a bit better, but overall well done to the organisers, i am chuffed with todays run as I have set a new PB. Date of review: June 6, 2010
In short: More ladies loos please!!!! In full: A lovely well organised race set in a charming Lincolnshire Spa town. My only gripes would be that it took some time tpo park (which rentrants could perhaps be warned about) and there was a seriosly insufficient number of ladies loos! (resulting in the discreet use of bushes by a number of ladies - wholly unwanted at the start of a race!).
More loos next year PLEASE !!!.... Date of review: September 26, 2009
In short: very enjoyable race In full: very fast, flat course. Experience will tell me next time however to get a little closer to the front at the start! spent the first kilometre running on an uneven grassy bank just trying to get round people. Kilometre markings wholly innacurate also, not so good when checking split times. Overall was an excellent event though. Date of review: June 13, 2009
In short: Lucky I didn't bring my elephant In full: This was a very nice race but it was a bit like sardines at the start. It's fine for shuffling zombies like me but anyone with aspirations for a quick time would struggle to get past during the first mile. After the first mile it opens out and it's a very pleasant run. The marshall and organisers were first rate. The race is chipped, so next year I think I'll have a nice cup of tea for 10 minutes at the start so by the time I catch the backmarkers the field will be spread out.
