In short: Please, please, pleassee.... improve it or kill this race off!!!
In full: Returned to this after a one year break. Still over-priced but as you are running in London not surprising. Poor medal smaller than previous years. Goody bag - ideal for putting some shopping in on the way home.
Officials - some good but many didn`t care what they were doing. The only good points were the support on the course and the course itself.
Start area - a joke. If you going to do a mass race, bring in zones for fast runners at the front, slower at the back or staggered start. Lack of chip timing.
Organisation, you can pay the same money and get better treatment. Even smaller 10k`s are better too.
Ideal for a fun runner but for the experience, one to avoid at all costs.

In short: long walk to the start, long walk to the finish.no timed chip and a really poor quality medal at the end. very disappointing.

goodie bags are not handed out after the finish you have to go and pick them up from the kit bag area. if you have no kit bag to hand in its a struggle to get a goodie bag at all. its very badly organised for the money i would expect better

badly directed back to the kit bag area
If you have no kit bag to hand in you won't get a medal as the goodie bag is handed out as you collect you bag at the finish.

In short: So disorganised I could not find the 5k and had to do the 10k!
In full: The wrong tube stations were put on the website for the 5k start, none of the marshalls even knew there was a 5k, and then directed me to the 10k baggage. By this time I had missed the race! They let me run the 10k instead - no starting zones, no timing (for a £30 race can they not provide chips?!), medals had not been provided to all baggage stations where they were being given out and they were certainly going to run out...
Worst organised race I've ever done. It's big, but not big enough for that to be an excuse.
On the plus side, very friendly crowd!

In short: Even though it's not got great reviews i still do it every year!!!
In full: I always find it slightly dissapionting reading the reviews on this race. Although I have done races which are much better i still love this race and commit to it every year. This year seemed to take much longer to cross the start line and the first 2miles were very difficult to get into a stride due to the large number of people walking/stopping which is always frustrating! The entry is not cheap but is worth it to run on the closed roads of London although would be good to be rewarded with a slightly better goody bag as was very dissapointed ths year!
Still I know i'll be back next year!!!

In short: Head for the Hard Rock Cafe!!
In full: Got off the tube at Green Park about 8am. No baggage to drop off , crossed Piccadilly and walked up the right hand side. A few people around. Arrived at the Hard Rock Cafe about 8:15, thought.. we'll have a drink and go to the toilet. Realised this was the elite side of the road! Warmed up on an empty road and chatted to people... very pleasant. Could see the masses on the other side of the road. Lined up for the start.. in fact we had a false start! Suddenly we were surrounded and then we were off. Nice clear run, great course, definitely PB potential. ran a decent time considering I'd walked miles the day before. A great morning... but wouldn't do the run again if I had to join the thousands standing on the other side of the road.

In short: Disappointing again!!
In full: Did this race in 2004 and really loved it, although toilet situation hasn't improved and baggage drop still really worrying - no sense of security at all!!.
Scenery is fantastic which makes this race worth the money.
Got to the race at 8am and dropped bag off quickly, headed straight to the start but as it was so early we decided to stop for a toilet break, what a mistake!!! We queued for 45mins and my partner queued for about an hour, (can't believe the mens queue was worse than the womens!!). We set off for the start line at 9:25 by which most of the 25000 people were in front of us, ended up sneaking up the pavement to get further towards the front as were getting cold and very wet!!. First km was a nightmare, Why do people enter a 10k race and walk from 1k agghhh it drives me crazy. They needed marshalls instructing walkers to stay to the right, and the amount of people who stopped dead in front of me, grrr!!!. So no PB this time as too much swerving took place. Couldn't open my gatorade bottle and had to stop and queue to get it, slipped on the gatorade lids as well!!. Phew calm, this race is good because of the atmosphere and the scenery but definitely needs toilets, staggered start, timing, paper cups and decent goody bags to convince me to do it again next year!!
