In short: To hilly In full: Not my kind of race. I'm to big and heavy to be running up those hills. A lack of changing and shower facilities were made all the more dissapointing due to the horrid weather. That said, a great big thankyou must go to the brave marshals who did a fantastic job, and for the very tasty Christmas Pud. Date of review: November 22, 2007
In short: Very good race marred by very bad weather! In full: I take my hat off to the marshalls who volunteered to stand out in such cold wet weather and cheered us on. I'm a seasoned runner but I can't remember many races where I've felt so cold and wet whilst running. Although the new course was said to be flatter there were some testing hills, particularly the long drag near the end of the race. I like the idea of a Christmas pudding rather than yet another T-shirt or medal for finishing. Date of review: November 21, 2007
In short: A good race, very well organised and marshalled, well done, In full: A good race, very well organised and marshalled, shame about the weather but good for running in, stops you getting too hot. WELL DONE, see you next year. Date of review: November 21, 2007
In short: Good "Undulating" 10KM In full: Having run the Great North Tun this year and the Coventry Half, this was my first 10km official run.
Enjoyed it, though the weather was awful, and as the course wasn't totally traffic free (although well martialled), you had to keep your wits about you for someover zealous sunday driver trying to get off his drive!
Overall enjoyed it, got my PB for 10KM, would do again next year.
In short: well worth the trip. In full: ok, the hills were not nice but after all we were running in derbyshire and they could of been alot worse. excellent organisation and excellent marshalling, thanks to all those that helped make it a great day for us all. will definetly be there next year. In short: Well organised but terrible weather! In full: A great figure of eight course, plenty to see and not overly hilly (more undulating). Terrible weather conditions (wind, ice-cold rain) but very well marshalled in the circumstances. Only criticism was queueing for the race number, but the pudding at the end was well worth it. Will be back next year - well done Heanor Running Club. Date of review: November 19, 2007
